Funny, odd, amazing things in the ST Comics

Facebook just reminded me that eight years ago, I bought this via eBay:

Comic art Andorian
by Ian McLean, on Flickr

Original full-page art for a Marvel "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" comic that never happened. This was for a storyline called "Operation Seastrike", with art by Rod Whigham & Philip Moy, and signed by Rod Whigham. That's an Andorian about to ambush Dr Bashir, of course. This art caused great excitement amongst my Andorian toys when it arrived!

When the Gold Key comics were being published in Brazil, they managed to slip in two original, very rare issues (#4 & 5):

You can read more about them here and here (in Portuguese).

Thats actually a very good idea.

Top middle: a female alien (from Filmation's TAS) in a water-filled helmet.

And... proposed "Star Trek: The Motion Picture" alien. A "marine person from Vega" (inspired from the TAS alien - helmet filled with water) by Robert Fletcher. (The Vegans later became Rhaandarites. The striated forehead went to the K'Normians.)

That was Tristian Jones, he worked on Dark Horses's other Alien titles. The ones I did were delivered in sketch form and between when I did the sketches and when the were delivered...the project was cancelled. So for fun last year and this I actually took the stretches and created the final product.
Is there an in-story reason why it's so dark throughout the Enterprise? Or why Spot was left on the ship with the self-destruct sequence engaged?

Chris Claremont, not Peter David.

Really, I knew that but I was thinking of New Frontier and must have sent the wrong signal to my hands.

They didn't evacuate spot in Generations. Those cold hearted [Klingon curse].
