Okay, I've had enough! Most of the subjects at the moment are depressive or arguementative (apart from Ha Ha but that was funny at someone else's expense). So come on - good news, funny things, what made you laugh recently?
I'll start - my cat just fell on my head! He was sleeping on the back of my chair and so slowly and so elegantly slipped onto my head. And in the most wonderful cat-like way looked at me as if it were my fault.
So come on, spread the joy.....

My joy at the moment is logging off for a few hours, going home and eating a home-made chicken dinner. Then we'll pop in a DVD and totally ignore it and wake up on the couch and complain all day tomorrow about stiff necks and sore backs!

My work pc got a tune-up. Now that isn't necessarily the funnest thing except to say that the service was accomplished by our IT so fast it was amazing. While I was out they totally plugged in a temporary replacement which I used for an hour or two. By the end of the day, my original pc was all hooked up and waiting for my log-on aaand the IT manager (who also added extra RAM) apologised that it took so long

I have the day off, nothing more fun than that. And with Monday being a holiday, that means a four-day weekend! With the forecast including single digits and negative windchill for NYC, I've opted to spend the day in my apartment (which is major for me; even when I'm sick I won't stay indoors all day). I did go to the bodega for some club soda, but I'm nt counting that because it's only a couple of blocks.

No, I'm staying in: I slept in til noon, and have spent the whole day drinking fine, French pressed coffee, eating freshly fried spring rolls, and watching TV! Whee!

My three year old daughter just marched into our study in a pink Cinderella dress and fairy wings and said, "Daddy, I want to watch a new 007."

She's three. They're all new to her.

I've been kicking back with a DVD Sopranos-Fest since yesterday. Every now and then I watch the whole thing in order over a few days (YOU SAD MAN! - everyone) and it brings me great joy.

I've had a heavy cold for a few days, so I'm in that sedentary mood for which prolonged DVD sessions are the required prescription. So it's been comfy chair time with plenty of fluids and Sopranos shenanigans for me!

Yesterday, Season 1. Today, Season 2. I think a pattern is forming.

See we do have good, if slightly boring things happening I love the Cinderella/007 senario and the fact that at 3 she has mastered marching! All women should at an early age.
Re; Sopranos I remember doing a Godfather-fest with a cold. Still couldn't work out who was who I blame the cold remedy!
When cold weather the best plan is to cosy in.
The only post I find hard to believe is an efficient IT department
I'm so bored I've been reduced to playing Theme Park World on the PS.

I am 14 hours from running the Twin Mountain Trudge, lovingly nicknamed the Winter Death March. It's a race that I've ran the previous 3 years, and for sticking with it (expecially after last year), I am being "rewarded" with the easiest Trudge to date. Most years, it's 11 miles, 2000' elevation change, and long patches of shin-to-knee deep snow, but we've had a pretty mild winter snow-wise this year, so the race director has gone on record as calling the snow levels "pitiful". I can use an easy run this year.

WHY? Why would you do that
She says having shopped for tomorrow already because it may rain. I don't think I'm as comfortable with the great outdoors as you obviously are

Why? Because I am just straight insane.
The conditions I described are just the usual conditions. Last year, we had a ton of snow, which made for the worst Trudge ever. It was 12 miles because we couldn't reach the start or finish line, and it was consistantly thigh deep snow with long stretches (1-2 miles) of waist deep snow. The slowest winning time is the new course record because it is assumed that if the winner is really slow, the the conditions were terrible. Last year, we set a new record by one hour, and this was by the same guy who has the fastest course times ever!

^What's the average time for 11/12 miles in those conditions?
And still WHY? Please tell me you are met with hot food and drinks and a huge row of warm and sensible people hurraying you

Most finish between 2-3 hours with one or two sneaking in below 2 hours and a couple people over 3 hours in a slightly tougher year. However, last year the fastest was 2:50 and the slowest was 5:30, with half of the field between 3:05 and 3:39 and the other half between 4:08 and 4:26. We are greeted with warm food, however there usually aren't too many hurrayers... just the race directors, earlier finishers, and some family members. Still a good time (mostly )

I had a good day considering that I spent it at the doctor's office waiting for two freaking hours for them to tell my husband he needs knee surgery.. however, I was with my hubby so that is alway a good thing.
