Frost Nixon

Tulin

Vice Admiral
Admiral
Just finished watching this and..........WOW!!!!!

My head is pretty much spinning at the moment but I wanted to say that, while Michael Sheen was his usual, dependable good self, Frank Langella was simply AMAZING as Nixon. At first I was a little put off because he looks nothing LIKE Nixon. That was all dispelled however once I got lost in his performance. The nuances he put across - the defiance, the anger, the self righteousness. Then at the end, the dawning realization of what he had truly done - the regret and sadness followed by resignation and acceptance in the final scene.

THIS is the kind of film I LOVE - two people battling mentally together, locked in a room while the truth simmers away in the subtext.

It really is a brilliant film. The depiction of these two very flawed characters is just wonderfully exciting.

Fantastic acting on both parts and that in itself is so much more interesting to watch than big special effects. A was mesmerised by Langella's performance, and I really think he should've won an Oscar for it.

Thanks for the review. Ever see Anthony Hopkins' performance as Nixon? I don't worry about how much an actor looks like the character as much as if he can portray the mannerisms, speech, and attitude. Mr. Hopkins did a great job and I'd really like to see Frost Nixon.

After seeing the trailer months ago I was really looking forward to seeing the movie and it did not dissapoint, loved it...Great writing and a wonderful cast :techman:

Might of done better at oscars in another year.
