Just finished watching this and..........WOW!!!!!
My head is pretty much spinning at the moment but I wanted to say that, while Michael Sheen was his usual, dependable good self, Frank Langella was simply AMAZING as Nixon. At first I was a little put off because he looks nothing LIKE Nixon. That was all dispelled however once I got lost in his performance. The nuances he put across - the defiance, the anger, the self righteousness. Then at the end, the dawning realization of what he had truly done - the regret and sadness followed by resignation and acceptance in the final scene.
THIS is the kind of film I LOVE - two people battling mentally together, locked in a room while the truth simmers away in the subtext.
