Great show, shame that in the UK it was shown in the early morning on a Saturday somewhat akin to kids TV shows, when a late evening slot would have suited it so much better.
Most excellent series! Both my kids, ages 10 and 14(one's a boy and the other one's a teenage girl) LOVE it!

And some of the real things appeared in it, as well. I believe the Lunar Module that appeared on the show is a real one - it was supposed to go up on Apollo 18 or 19. Also the vehicle that the Apollo astronauts take to their spacecraft (looks like an overgrown minivan) is the real one as well. And the 'White Room' (the little area that the Apollo astronauts pass through on their way into the capsule) is the real thing as well.
I don't believe any of the real astronauts appeared in it, though a lot of them were friends with the actors who portrayed them. Brett Cullen, for example (who is a great actor and totally cool - I even talked to him via email!), played Dave Scott, and whenever one of his episodes was on, the Scott family invited him over to watch it with them.
Fun fact: The actor playing the judge in the Apollo One court hearings is this guy: "With a name like Smuckers, it has to be good!"
