It was Jan's name for her child conceived by artificial insemination. But Michael (I think) misspelled the name Astird" (ass turd).

You did indeed spell it correctly.

Ugh, my stupid channel decided to cut to dead air for a couple minutes. What happened right after August said "I think I had feelings". Did he die?

Yeah, he died. And that's what made the girl too special to "correct the timeline" by eliminating her -- she became the first human responsible for an observer dying.
