For those who remember Bros (as in the British boys band trio in the 80s), the "bald" shapeshifter was played by Luke Goss, who was the drummer in the band. I recently learned he moved in the US to be an actor.

Okay, I hated the "kill a regular character and substitute an evil look-alike" schtick when Abrams did it on Alias, and I hate that he did it again here. Now I'm surprised it hasn't happened on Lost yet. I fear for Scotty in Trek XII.

Uhhh... regarding that last sentence... did you not see the Lost season 5 finale?

So the shapeshifter was able to kill Charlie, turn into Charlie, change into Charlie's clothes, hide Charlie's body, bring in the nurse's body and put her clothes back on her before anyone reached the scene?

Not only that, but he managed to cover up the fact that the nurse's body had no bullet holes (or bullets, what with no exit wounds) in it, when, if it were still the shapeshifter, it should have had four (two from Jessup & 2 from RealCharlie).

I was genuinely surprised by Charlie's death reveal at the end since it was so impossibly carried out. Still sad, but ultimately handled poorly.

I'm waiting for Shapeshifter Charlie to have the upper hand on the team when someone kills him at the last moment. Everyone looks over to see who saved them... and it's Mirror Universe Charlie! (Actually, it's more likely to be Mirror Universe John Scott.)

You know what I like about Fringe and no one has mentioned it? It's that the the fantastic things they do (Teleportation, shapeshifting, dimension hopping, etc) takes an incredible degree of effort. They may not explain the actual details of how it's done (thank goodness), but it's obvious that alot more goes into it than just pushing a button or sliding knobs on a refitted mixing board.

Yeah the producers are big sci fi buffs. They actually try to blend some real science in there.

We'll find out Scotty is not the original one and he's actually Henry Montgomery Scott.

Then his brother who looks more like James Doohan will take over as Engineer to honor him.

New "Scotty" ;)

I thought the science they called "real science" was called "garbage science"

Walter is still amazing, but the show overall is still pretty mediocre. It really stands in the shadow of the X-Files and never really manages to be truly compelling.

Not really, it's been too long. I don't remember an evil look-alike replaceing somebody.

John Locke never came back to life for season five, so it's been an impostor the whole time.

Better to stand in the shadows of X-Files than My Mother The Car.

My point being is that it could be a lot worse. And I miss X-Files.
