Fridays without Discovery

I'm not really looking forward to wall-to-wall Trek. Makes it seem less special and more like a fast food franchise. McTrek.

Maybe it will be like a million monkeys at a million typewriters. If they churn out enough trek maybe they will make the odd decent episode and even more unlikely a decent series. Probably not though....

I might give "Star Trek Continues" another shot.
And I might rewatch the Marvel movies. That Endgame broke me.

I've never seen a Marvel Movie
What am I missing ?
If you mean MCU, that started from Iron Man 2008 (actually from Hulk 2008, but it wasn't a great movie), you are missing very colorful and cinematic show, which works like energizing drink, combines humor and drama in the right proportion. It deserves more logic, but... nobody is perfect.
The Avengers 2012 was very inspiring for me when I was looking for a job, Captain America trilogy was very helpful when I was depressed. Never loved Iron Man, but he is a soul of the whole project. If you want try it, I recommend Iron Man 2008, The Avengers 2012 or Doctor Strange 2016 for the first look on MCU.

I know you're an Orville fan, so at least you have that. Look at this way: this is FOX we're talking about. If they renew it for a third season, they'll probably renew it for a 13th. With FOX, it's either they'll cancel it too soon or they'll drag it out for an eternity. There's rarely ever a happy medium when it comes to them.

I'm sorry, I should have said "I've never seen a Marvel movie (in the cinema)"
I have actually seen three of the X-Men franchise on TV.
I was just intrigued by the hype of this latest Avengers movie.

I'm sorry too, don't know what the information do you have already.
The Avengers: Infinity War last spring and The Avengers: Endgame now are two parts of a movie, which brings together characters of previous 20 MCU movies in one global final story. So there's a hype.
X-Men are Marvel Comics, but not MCU. They very differ from Avengers. It's another studio, another characters, another style, another aesthetics (I don't love them actually).

I've been rewatching SGU. I hated it at the time for not being SG-1 or Atlantis. Now I'm like... wow, this was ahead of it's time.

Yes it was really good - so sad when they didn't renew it. The way they ended was classic - those poor people.....
