Frasier

I wish they would have used the Silicon Valley millionaire kid more. The one who bought the station and then duplicated Frasier's apartment as his own.

--Ted

The end of that episode is one of my favorite moments of the show. The way Frasier recoils in terror from Martin's chair after he says 'I need to sit down!' :guffaw:

I'm halfway through season four on the marathon. >pantpantpant<

We've just met Martin's new girlfriend Sherry, and she's freaking out the Crane boys with her earthy enthusiasm. (To Niles: "You just separated right? Something my mother used to say: 'the best way to get over someone is to get under someone.'")

The one thing that really hits one when watching all the episodes back to back is that for all their erudition and education, the brothers really were played as complete incompetent idiots who, shockingly, had no ability to predict the outcome of any of their actions. Their attempt to open a restaurant, for example, was particularly painful and obviously doomed; when they snuck a peak at the next book of the JD Salinger analogue and caused him to throw it away was also one of those "how can you be such idiots!" moments.

But... man. I still love this show.

A lot of the humor of this show went over my head - too dry, too overly intelligent and ultra-witty. Not saying I'm dumb, as such, I just like dumb humor. Such as this. I mean, this show was still funny to me, I just didn't laugh *quite* as much as I could have.

That being said: Probably the funniest thing I ever heard on this show was when Frasier was describing one of his past relationships (whom he liked to go to operas with), he said something about "I had a dream about her during Einstein On The Beach." I have a recording of that (Einstein, not this show), and it's definitely an appropriate line. :guffaw:

Yep. That's dumb humor alright.
