Fox News: 120% Of The Public Thinks Scientists May Falsify GW Data

I'm not a Fox News fan, but be fair...MSNBC is just as bad if not worse when it comes to truth-rape.

I don't start threads lightly, especially in Misc, but this is so over the top, even for a network that consistently mislabels scandal-plagued Republicans as Democrats.

I laughed because of the irony with the Warmers data when I saw this.

The actual data comes from #3 on this page I believe.
Hey, that's great. I'm not going to discuss the topic either but I'm going to post a link that's not related at all to the current conversation but it is something that I agree with.

Here's Fox News fucking up another poll that just-so-happens to fit with their editorial slant.

So you'll let us know when MSNBC reports Democrats who fall in disgrace became Republicans just as Republicans who get involved in sex scandals magically become Democrats on Fox News. Once you can put down to as mistake - twice is pushing but 4 times?

For those of you who don't know what Marc meant to say (I know Guartho knows but for those who don't): Fox News has "mistakenly" listed Republicans involved in scandals as Democrats a number of times.

Oh that is awesome and you're right, yours has nothing to do with the topic of the thread where mine contained the data that was mistakenly botched.

But please, don't stop trying to use ridicule in place of logic. You're winning and I can see Foxnews' ratings dropping as you type.

Oh I know. It's a lot like saying networks that leave out important information are quality journalism. Huh-huh yup.

I'm always amused at people who think that high ratings somehow correlates to quality journalism.

especailly when there's a lack of direct compeition in the market and overall you're still beating in the ratings by repeats of a kids show on Nickleodeon.

But hey if ratings reflected quality the top movie at the box office wouldn't be New Moon.

As someone whose job involves political polling, I'm curious to see how Fox spins this one.

When you make these graphics for TV the goal is to make them as simple as possible and easily digestible. For the televised projects I've worked on, the numbers are passed through a bunch of different checks for accuracy before they ever hit the air. I can't imagine any scenario where presenting a graphic showing 120% the way they did was somehow acceptable, and wasn't an error or just outright deception.

My money says they'll acknowledge it as an error by their graphics department and never mention it again.

SNAFU?

If you use FOX News (or television itself) as a source of news and information, I already know that one's IQ is PU. :p

Jon Stewart: So, in attacking scientists for falsifying data to support global warming, you've cited a poll that adds up to 120%.

Watch as the Daily Show rapes your face and pretty much calls Gretchen Carlson a dumb whore...that or Fox's viewers are all a bunch of dumb whores who don't know the meaning of simple words. .

And since you seem to thing ratings is the end all be all of journalistic excellence...the lowest rated network news (you know, the REALLY liberal one) has about 5 TIMES THE AUDIENCE as Fox News.

Let me see:

The Topic: Fox Botched Up Reporting Polling Data
Squiggy's Posted Link: Fox Botched Up Reporting Polling Data

Yup, nothing to do with one another.

If true, then it sounds like they're taking multiple polls and putting them together. It's not entirely dishonest, but it's nothing to be proud of.

J.

Combining polls so that they are totaled instead of averaged is entirely dishonest. I don't care who does it.

I don't think that it's dishonest. Just comes from people who never learned basic statistics.
It's dishonest to pass yourself off as a credible source if you don't know what you're talking about.
