The shows I'll watch: 24, American Idol, Dollhouse, Fringe, Glee, Human Target, and Past Life. I'll likely catch up at some stage with American Dad and Family Guy in reruns or on DVD.

Fox's new pilots - video clips.

So how far did yall get before bailing?

Human Target - Made it all the way thru, but only to confirm that they really did change the premise to make it way too pedestrian for my tastes. Just another frakkin cop show now.

Past Life - 00.51 - Eh, do we really care about people whining about their past lives? I don't even care about people whining about their current lives. Get over it! :rommie:

Sons of Tucson
- 1.23 - Cute, but I think I've seen about as much from it as I want.

Cleveland - 00.56 - Who the hell is this guy, again?

Brothers
- 00.11 - FLEE! FLEE!

Glee
- Made it all the way thru - and this isn't even "my kind of show." That's the one I'll check out.

I'm confused they still have @7 episodes of King of the Hill to air but it's not even on the schedule. And yeah Fringe is totally getting canceled! The only reason it got good ratings was because it was after House and American Idol. And now people know it's actually a sci-fi show and the "secret" is over; like LOST it will thus plummet in the ratings.

I was hoping they would move doll's house.

The only reason they kept it was for filler.

They should have kept Fringe on Tuesdays and pair it with something else. House and Lie to Me on Liar Monday. Dancing (If they really need to, I think it will fail). Bones and Dancing Thursday. Friday Deadzone.

Hold Glee for it to fail until AI is on.

I thought it was obviously a sci-fi show from the start. Why would people just realize it now?

^^ Also don't think they'd complain at running to Lost's six seasons either.

Fringe might survive without AI. Sooner or later shows have to sink or swim on their own merit. They can't live off of AI forever, otherwise Fox would only have two successful shows all season, AI and whatever followed it.

There's sci-fi and there's sci-fi-lite, which Fringe initially appeared to be. It was basically a procedural/medical show with bizarre elements. But now it's about (spoiler) which is much less palatable to John Q Public. Just like LOST was successful in its first two years when it was a character drama with occasional bizarre elements, but now it's balls out science fiction fantasy.

Just watched first 5 episodes of Dollhouse and apart from the vault episode it has been a good ride...move it from fridays :scream:

Wow Fox worked the Statue of Liberty and the United Nations into the little blurb about 24 being in NYC next year. I wonder how much of that they'll work into the show?

Jack Bauer shoot-out at the Statue of Liberty?

Jack Bauer breaking into the UN and abducting an ambassador? Hell maybe the UN Secretary-General himself or herself as the case may be.

I'm just glad 24 is finally acknowledging that terrorist attacks can occur in places other than Los Angeles.

I am unashamedly excited about Glee. It looks so good. THR and Variety both raved about it.

After seeing the pilot/first episode earlier, so am I. On paper this is so not my kind of show. Only watched it because I thought the wife would enjoy it. We both thought that it was brilliant.

I watched the first episode of Glee - very likable. I won't be sticking with it, just not quite enough to grab me (and the over-the-top style doesn't quite enchant me the way, say, Pushing Daisies did) but I can't fault the effort.

I don't stick with many shows and this is a nearer miss than most. And I'm sure the post-AI crowd will be more than enough to carry it through at least the first season. Those folks will need something to watch.

Me too. Out of all the places to attack, you really think for the 7 days the show has taken place they would all be in LA? I'm sure terrorists rather set a nuke off in NYC or DC.

I'm still worried about Glee, doesn't fit in with network TV, and 2.5+ million viewers ditched the show mid episode.

The point still stands that 6 attacks, including a nuclear attack in season 5 I think, happened in LA.

You know the seventh day/season was set in DC, right?

And day eight will be set in New York City.

Weird that it's airing in the fall, though. Will it be another non-stop season, or will they have breaks for the first time since season three?

EDIT: To bigdaddy. It's true that 24 became LA centric as it went along. But it's worth pointing out that season one was an assassination plot, not really a terrorist attack. Season three had bio attacks all around the country, although the big bad was based in LA and there was an attack there. Season four is unexplainable, especially since the bad guys fire a missile from Iowa and aim to attack LA of all places. Season five was LA-focused, but season six had terrorist attacks all around the country (some of the action was DC-based)...although the one nuclear attack did take place in LA. I'm glad they made the move to DC for season seven. One of the best things the show has done in a while.
