Meanwhile, back in the Whoverse, I'm looking forward to Patrick Ness's Class spinoff. If his novels are anything to go by, this will be interesting and intense, and very much not a kids show.
I hope it will be good. I'm not sure what to make of the idea. A show set in Coal Hill School, but without any familiar characters or aliens? I'm not sure I see the point of setting it in the Doctor Who universe if it has such a tenuous continuity link. Heck, even that lame, non-canonical Australian K9 series had, well, a version of K9 played by John Leeson.
Although I guess all that's been really said about characters is that Clara wouldn't be in it. I suppose that doesn't rule out other characters. Hmm... We know Ian Chesterton runs the board of governors, and William Russell's still around. I doubt a man in his 90s would be up for a regular gig, but he could have a cameo or two.
