Well, Star Trek exists in For All Mankind, though not in the same way in real life. IIRC Phase II happened instead of TMP, and TNG also happened.

I believe Wrath of Khan also still happened as the first movie instead?

Yeah, Danielle refers to watching all three Star Trek shows with her step-son and the producers later clarified this as TOS, the planned Phase II and an equivalent TNG (presumably different), and that TWOK was then the first movie.

For all we know, TNG in FAMK might have focused on the Enterprise A, we've not had mention of the movies post Khan, iirc

If we go with the planned Feb 78 debut of Phase II, and Karen spoils the end of Wrath of Khan to Baldwin in 1983, you can get a five year mission in for Phase II (78, then 78/79, 79/80, 80/81, 81/82 - the writers say it had a lengthy run) with a one year gap before TWOK.

But the cold war was happening when Chekov was introduced in our world. I think the reasons of including a Russian would still be the same.

I had the thought that if Shatner had indeed only stayed on as a regular for the first half-season of Phase II, and Nimoy hadn’t come back at all, TWoK would’ve been an even bigger event, not just the first Star Trek movie, but the return and reunion of Kirk and Spock after five seasons without them.

Now, there's still the Star City spinoff (or what I think will only be a mini series) that was also announced, that we have to get some news on - other than casting.

Well, they've suggested the final season would have lead up to the launch for the first Starship, which might have been the setting of a possible spin-off.

I think given Tech as it stands in universe, I wouldn't be surprised if the theme for the season is non-Martian/Lunar colonies and maybe a Grand Tour of Sol.

I figure that might be a big thing for the last few seasons, effectively 2 societies of humanity both in cooperation but also in competition with each other. Given that any show needs drama they might even throw in rumblings of war between Earth and Mars but that may not be the right fit for the show, it's not a prequel to The Expanse.

I would love the show closing by sending out its first generational starship to Proxima Centauri or any other star system that's only single digit lightyears away ( maybe if they feel bold drop a tiny hint for the first experimental FTL drive )

if the show keeps on going the alternate reality in the current timeline will be like the jetsons

in other words in 2025 on alternate reality for all mankind the world will be like the jetsons on ai steroids

Well, they've Unity Plasma Drive only takes a month to reach Mars in 2003, so between 54Mil KM and 400MilKM in a month, whilst Jupiter is 588 Mil KM at its closest so would take a year to reach if we assume transit at its closest point on a similar drive.
