^^You had me at Victorian wood paneling inside and lots of dials and switches, and we will requires 4000 miles of rope and some walking sticks and oil lamps for the journey back, so i don't see how this can possibly fail, ok somebody go start the funding, i will start unknotting this 4000 miles of rope.

I was watching "At The Earth's Core" when I wrote that post.

That's the kind of machine we need.

Assuming "millenials" covers about 15% of the US, that's 35 million people who believe the world is flat, most of whom will be college educated. That's higher than in the 1500s.

Fortunately I don't think those trends will hold worldwide

Don't they teach science in schools anymore?
But was it not simpler back in the old days before all this new fangled science stuff muddied the waters, can't we go back to the good old days of a flat earth, dark ages, burning witches, blood letting for medical cures and the light shinging through all the tiny holes in the night from heaven, would that not be simpler, and think of the money we could save alone on health care, just all leech cures, and education with no more pesky science stuff, just good old practical pig farming and hay bailing, i can't really see a downside to it at all. :nyah:

I've got a better idea why don't those believe who don't believe in science simply decide not to use anything which came out of science, i.e. medicine It'll hopefully remove them from the gene pool ;P

So has this individual managed to raise the billions of dollars that would be necessary to build and launch a rocket into space?

Actually my favourite Mythbusters segment was when they did the can you shatter a CD by spinning it too fast. That came about due to stories of people having disks explode inside CD Rom drives. That was a fun one.

On youtube there's some amazing slow motion videos of these

^^^ Those fools, have they never seen the blob. lol

Now what would happen if they made a balloon that would never pop, cheap way to launch satellites. lol

There's an idea for a trashy horror movie...... Killer food from space.

Teenagers send up random items of food to the edge of space and it comes back mutated and hungry. Hungry for them and for the world.
