Flat Earther to Launch Rocket Proving Earth is not Round

Unfortunately, when you are dealing with crazy people, there is no solution; even ignoring him will get likely him and certainly his followers to say, "See! They know he's right, that's why they're ignoring him!"

The best I think we can hope for, is his entirely predictable fiery rocket death. The crazies will lose the person they latch on to, whine about it for a bit, then go back to conspiracy websites and Youtube videos and Alex Jones and generally leave us alone until the next nutjob stirs them up.

That would be right after, when those nut-jobs claim that it was sabotage to prevent him proving his idea that the Earth is flat.

You know, if I thought the Earth was flat, and wanted to prove it in the cheapest, safest manner possible, my first instinct would be to get a boat and just go West until I see the edge.

But no, this guy wants a ROCKET. :)

Now that I think about it, if I was an unscrupulous individual who wanted to take advantage of Flat Earthers, the thing I'd do is come up with some expensive, fantastic scheme to prove the earth is flat, then get Flat Earthers to raise money for me to do it and then just kind of run off. This is seeming plausible to me.
Sadly, yes.

How about forcing them to be launched into space - even landed on the moon, perhaps. Then, if they actually still don't believe, let them step out of the craft and find out there's no air out there!

If they still don't believe, it won't matter anymore, now - will it?

Ugh... Could we just take all the flat earthers, moon landing deniers and the 9/11 truthers and put them on an island somewhere?
I think public humiliation is a more sensible approach. It won't be guaranteed... as there is always going to be those who take the stupid side, attempting to support the loser. But the alternative to let things lie and continue to fester, attracting more germs (supporters) is worse.

Humiliation is only possible with indisputable facts... and if people refuse to accept facts, they need to be called out on it. Even if it means having to go back to the beginning. "2 + 2 = 4". Correct? If they deny it to be true, they are plainly a refusnik. Step by step with little admissions until the final premise is so well bolstered that denial simply means IDIOT.

There was this rather silly yet practical video I saw ages ago......Let me go find it.

The 2nd part of the video where they have a giant round mirror orbiting the Earth is what I am talking about, from the reflections in the mirror you can see Earth is round.

Holy crap... an island CAPSIZING? That's probably the best example of the WORST intellectual FAIL one can make as an adult, let alone as an elected official. I mean, if Jeff Foxworthy had him on "Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader" this guy would probably fail miserably.

aha......
This is the kind of stuff that people don't know about their elected representatives, and should be on TV every day. There is a lot more where this came from.

You just have to pay attention.

I'm not a US citizen (thank god) but I did know about what that guy said, just I did not know he was democrat.

That proves you can get dummies on both sides of the house.

The Republicans have their equivalent. Check out Ron Johnson.
