Fitness Diary, apostle83

I have no idea, to be honest. I assume your 'why' is 'whey' - but I don't know the brand or anything about it, bro. Do you know the brand?
No. I'll get some info tomorrow and get back 'whicha.

Weighed myself tonight. 286. YAY! I didn't eat anything crazy this weekend. Also, I really feel, even though I have a long way to go, like my body composition is beginning to change. It's been like... 5 or 6 weeks. I can hardly wait for six MONTHS. :D

I had a monster workout tonight. MONSTER. My legs are like jelly. I love it.

DarkHelmet, in about 4 weeks I shall need another program from you. :p

So the stuff at Wallyworld is ok?

I love the excitment in your last few posts! Progress is awesome!

I would recommend going to Vitamin Shoppe if you get supplements directly. Walmart's powders tend to be on the smallish side and won't last you long.

I'm sore all over now myself. I LOVE IT

Thanks - it's fun!

I am shopping on vitamine shoppe as we speak. Thanks for the suggestion!

Tonight is my "off night" other than running. I took the dog for a 1.5 mile jog. I have a paper to finish... as soon as I do it, I'll go to the gym for another run.

I haven't "cheated" in about 10 days, and I got really, really bad cravings for something from Taco Bell. So, I dropped by and grabbed a soft taco. I feel like I'll be ok, but I feel... not guilty, but like I sort of threw something away. :(

Congratulations on all the progress and hard work! I've managed to get down from 193 to 185 myself! There's still more work to be done but seeing the progress helps with the motivation as I'm sure you know.

I had another monster workout tonight. Is it good when you come out and have trouble walking right, but the next morning you feel fine? 'Cause if that's good, I'm great. I LOVE my leg workouts.

Ah, that explains it... you look a lot taller than that in your pictures.

Well my wife is only 5'0" so she probably makes me look taller than I am.

Hell yeah! I've had trouble going up stairs after a leg workout before. That's when I know it's been a good one.

Yeah, this morning I feel largely whole in my legs. I mean, I have a little bit of soreness, but I have my strength back and I'm not wobbly, like a drunken hippie right now. I'll do upper body tonight and then run on Saturday and Sunday.

The second and third days after are usually worse. If you get over it in one day then you didn't do enough!

I've had time to go to the gym twice today, I'm giving one bodypart my all in each visit.

Weighed tonight. 284.2lbs. This is according to my new scale. It also informs me I have 31.4% body fat. That is... discouraging. I will endeavor to lose fat. I don't care about weight, really... just body fat percentage. At least now.

...but if I'd hit it any harder I wouldn't have been able to WALK out of there!

Crawl like a man!! J/K!

Good idea, this mostly means diet however....fat does not turn into muscle. You have to lose the fat. Being stricter on a "diet" might mean logging what you eat. How much of a plan do you have??

Well, I eat pretty consistantly the following:

breakfast
1/2 cup special k
1 cup cottage cheese

2 hours later
protein bar

lunch
1/2 cup special k or 1/2 cup brown rice
protein - either tuna or 8oz chicken breast

2 to 3 hours later
protein bar

supper
8 oz chicken breast or turkey burger
big, big, big porton of baby spinach

before bed
protein powder in water or skim milk

Those are close approximations on your protein intake per meal. Guy your size, need a little more for what you're trying to accomplish. Add a scoop in the morning to breakfast, and maybe 1/2 scoop with dinner.

BTW - RAMA, I love that Arnold quote in your sig. Here is one of my favorites from him:

"Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths. When you go through hardships and decide not to surrender, that is strength."

Thanks for the protein eval! I was SHOCKED last night to see that walmart has myoplex bars. :/

The shake mix I got at walmart has 26 grams of protein per serving, I'll make sure to double up once or twice. :D

Also, I noticed a new ab machine at the gym yesterday. I don't think it's possible to cheat with it! You can ad weight to it, but essentially you put your hands on bars over your head, put your feet behind some padded bars, and bend your waist. It pulls you together, and to make it more difficult you can add weight. I was huffing by the time I got done with it (no, not crack!) and it was pretty stinking cool!
