Fitness Diary, apostle83

Is there anything I can sub for eggs in the morning? I can tell already that I would love something to rotate. :p

BTW - started off at 311/312.

Was 299 last night.

Great job! In the morning you can try an oatmeal power shake, banana, milk, ice, protein powder or some kind of supplement you like, grab it and go.

I like banana on toast with coffee and juice.

Cottage cheese is teh awesome. For sure!

Thanks for reminding me! That, some blueberries, and a quick shot of protein is perfect.

Ah, kewl. Darkhelmet - how do you add protetin? I'm using GNC chocolate whey - would I just mix it?

Yesterday was frustrating. I was very, very sore over my entire body. To test my soreness, I did pushups last night and could only do about 16 (I did 33 after I got back from meeting with the ex after starting with like, 6 or 7). My ankles are KILLING ME even though I didn't go into the gym yesterday. I did, however, go walking three times. My morning and evening walks were one loop around a 1.49 mile stretch. No jog/run there - just brisk walking. At 2, I walked in the now infamous aggressive dog zone.

Last night, I ate 8 ounces of beef. It was no filet mignon, let me tell you. It was a round cut. I probably feel the worst I have since I've started this this morning. I've been puking. In fact, I feel so bad, the dog feels so bad, that we're staying home today.

That's one of the NICE things about what I've set up with my company. I can literally work from anywhere with a fast enough internet connection and have full connectivity. People in the office can reach me at my extension, so can customers!

Is that chocholate whey in powder form? If so, just mix it 4-6 oz of water and chug it down.

Also, I'd recommend using someone else other than GNC. Their markup is the highest in the industry. Go to a reliable online retailer like netrition.com - you'll be astounded how much money you save for the same top-line/brand name stuff.

Ack, yeah I hardly ever use GNC! Vitamin Shoppe if I need soemthign fast and BB.com and Bulk Nutrition when I need something cheap.

Well, the beef I had last night did NOT sit well with me! :guffaw:

I worked from home today. Ankles were AGAIN sore. So instead of running, I walked six miles in 1.5 mile increments and did 60 pushups in sets of 15.

I'm not satisfied with how long it's taking me to get back into this, but I suppose I'm only 10 days in.

Why don't you swim? Great aerobic burn and easy on the ankles. Unless you hit your foot against the wall... :p
I would like to swim. My gym doesn't have a pool, and my apartment pool has had a recurring issue this summer and is currently down. The weekend manager told me they're about ready to rip it out and put a new one in.

How long has it been since you've had a physical?

It sounds like you are making some big changes.

You really should consult a doctor.

I had a physical in April. My doctor told me I needed to lose weight and exercise.

I have another one in September.

Apostle, just wanted to add that eating honey nut cheerios with non-fat milk can slim you down real fast...it's a great in between meal snack and you can do 3 or 4 small bowls a day...

...also I'd recommend fast walks (getting your target heart rate up and maintain that for 20 min) rather than heavy duty cardio in the gym. I think you may be a little to heavy to over indulge this early.

Very good advice on eating more often but way less and healthier proportions ...gets you metabolism working in high gear. Good luck

I was going to suggest swimming!! Great for rehab as long as you stay off it as much as possible.

I was supposed to be out of town this weekend, but didn't go due to the business being crazy. I had to apply a lot of patches to systems this weekend that I deemed emergency level.

So, Midnight and I walked. A lot. Six miles Saturday, 4.5 on Sunday, bursts of 15 pushups all weekend long. I'm actually digging the pushup thing. I'm really, really heavy right now and I like the fact that not only am I getting a lot of resistance from my weight, but I'm also doing core exercise at that point. Should I be placing this much confidence in pushups?

I ate healthy and well all weekend. Well, I had ONE extra bowel of Raisin Bran. :p But I resisted all the foods I have stored up for my cousin when he flies in next weekend! I haven't weighed myself since my last report.

Last night, I got the urge to make a stew late. It has about 2 lbs of venison, 3 red potatoes, 2 cans of beef broth, 1 onion, 1 lb baby carrots. Does this sound alright to eat in limited quantities, or should I give it away?

I had to do something with the venison, as I unthawed it and well, just didn't have time to do anything else with it.

This may sound crazy but my advice to you is to stop letting a public messageboard decide what you do. You fancied some stew, so you made it. The whole success of any diet is eating what you want to eat but not to excess.

[notice I couldn't help but give advice :D]
