Fitness Diary, apostle83

I was on the road yesterday, and feeling pretty crushed. Because of that, I wimped out and didn't pack anything for food. I ate my first meal properly, and had a mid morning protein bar, but for lunch I had a grilled ranch chicken wrap at McDonalds. For dinner I had a grilled hamburger patty... with the ex.

Last Wednesday I was 309 when I weighed myself at the gym, which is what I've been lately at the doctor's office. Tonight, when I weighed myself at the gym, I was 302. I've been drinking a ridiculous amount of water, so I don't think it is water weight. I've been eating what I was told to eat.

I've heard weight loss is the fastest at the beginning, and at the end.

I would appreciate any and all feedback.

Thanks sheliak. That was very helpful information! Can you share some of your sources so I can learn even more?

Don't eliminate all fats from your diet. Research has shown a very low fat diet has an adverse effect on the brain's ability to work properly (basically lowers intelligence). Oily fish and olive oil both reduce cholesterol, so should be kept in your diet.

My ankles are so sore. I don't want to puss out, but I don't want to hurt myself. I've been walking/running the dog 3x a day plus 20-30 minutes walking at the gym.

I think I'm just going to do machine work at the gym tonight, all upper body.

I feel really good though, other than the ankles. Waaay more energy!

Don't do anything high impact for awhile till that ankle is better, or probably even after it gets better!

You're right.

Question for you, Darkhelmet, and the others: Why hasn't the Bunny showed up at my pla... crap, wrong question.

The real question is this: If I lay off of cardio and walking/running for the next few days (for safety), will lifting upper body every other day , doing leg stuff that doesn't rely on the ankle, etc... will it keep my metabolism up?

No gym tonight - the ankles overall are just not feeling good, and I'm not going to risk anything.

I'm out of town this weekend, so I figure hit it hard Wednesday and Thursday, maybe hit the gym with my buddy Saturday, but if not come back and hit it hard Monday.

Also, I'm finding myself less hungry... could my stomach have started to shrink already?

No. If you're carrying some excess fat around your midsection, it's not because your stomach is enlarged. Fat is stored in adipose tissue, not in the stomach. The stomach is a digestive organ only.

But if you're saying 'stomach' and referring to your midsection in general then, well, the answer is still no. A loss of appetite is not a sign of fat loss.

I had to be at a Mechanic shop at 7:00 am this morning. That shortened my morning walk. I don't feel as good, and neither does Midnight (my dog). In fact, he's as antsy as a pimple faced dweeb on prom night.
