First wireless solid state HDD

I have 1TB plus 2 other HDD's in the desktop. The 1.5TB media drive went tits up.

True SSD's are more similar to thumb/flash drives.

Would love to have one in my laptop. Maybe when they cost less than a laptop....

I purchased a 120GB SSD last year for $250 USD at about the time when standard harddrive prices were doubling due to the "shortage". 120GB isn't huge by today's standards, but it's enough to work nicely with my laptop. The thing I appreciate is the jump in performance speed; everything running at the speed of RAM. Big difference in productivity and battery life.

DDR3 RAM is faster than any available S-ATA 6.0 Gbps (S-ATA III) SSD, as DDR3 RAM has a transfer rate of 6.400 MB/s to 17.000 MB/s. An SSD will peak at 700 MB/s.
Therefore you will still fell some paging, but it is less noticeable than on any HDD.

PS: DDR2 RAM is even slower than DDR3 RAM.
