It is a fantastic show. I have a tip though, you might want to seek out other stuff with Simon pegg and/or Nick Frost. If you do, avoid Hyperdrive like the plague.

The BBC are just one of a great many broadcasters here, and even though they're (uniquely) publically funded, their content is not controlled by the government. At all.

Spaced is possibly the best thing Channel 4 have ever done.
The episode where Tim has been up playing Resident Evil all night and on a caffeine high remains one of my favourite episodes of anything ever.

One of my favourite parts is Tim having a go at the little kid who wants some Jar Jar toys

Pre-ordered the R1 release the day it went up on Amazon. Very nice DVD release, with a robust set of special features. I like the Homage-O-Meter.

I've never seen Life on Mars so I don't think that was me. It IS a misleading title though if you don't know anything about it 
I also gotta give praise for Jennifer (blank) who plays Daisy. She was quite funny and quirky, holding up as well as Tim's character/performance which I really didn't expect. The only characters I didn't care for were Brian and Twist; indeed Twist seemed to be an entirely pointless character who barely factors into the stories.
Oh yes, and I loved the dog Colin. I love the way he just sat there like a turd and never did anything

I heart Spaced. Loads. I discovered it on DVD after seeing Shaun at the cinema, which I also adored (Hot Fuzz as well). I loved it - I really clicked with the characters, brilliantly epitomising early-20s life. The humour was wide-reaching, delving into the farcical, parody, and surrealism. I can't believe it was only a couple of series long but it remains my favourite Channel 4 series so far, perhaps a nudge ahead of Peep Show.
I prefer Peep Show. Just.
I keep meaning to, but I've still not got round to getting series 4 and 5 on DVD.
Ah. Forgot Peep Show (despite watching it for 3 hours yesterday). That's mildly ahead of Spaced for me, but probably the extra number of episodes helps it.
David Mitchell just pulls off the small-penised southerner schtick so perfectly.
