First snow of the year

Prince Edward Island got its first major snowfall of the winter this weekend. A few centimetres, covered everything pretty nicely.

What about the rest of ya?

Snow on the mountains, nothing in the valley though. Don't expect any. Snow sticking in the valley is once-in-a-decade thing here.

Heavens, can't remember that far back! I know we'd had some the week before my sister came to visit which would have been.... about the third week of October.

Last Thursday is when we had our first big snowfall though - fell all day and all night, luckily not too heavy but still plenty of snow, and really windy too so you couldn't see a thing!

trampledamage, reporting in from Saskatchewan :)

Halloween was when we had our first real snowfall of the year. Even stuck around for a day or two.

We had some flurries, but nothing real sticky yet, it's coming though, this Friday they are calling for flurries and snow showers possible

I think we got a light dusting back in October, but it didn't stay around very long. Discounting that, our first snowfall for this year was the 10 cm we got on Thursday.

Some more (of the light fluffy variety) was coming down this morning and it's still going a bit right now.

It's more interesting if people say where they're located. :)

Here in Burlington, VT I saw some flakes for the first time this winter on Friday. There's definitely snow in the mountains. As long as it doesn't snow over Thanksgiving (I have to do a 5.5 hour road-trip to see my parents) I'll be reasonably happy.

I live outside of Houston. It's about 80 degrees here today. Dang it.

We had one day of snow last year--it lasted about 4 hours. I would LOVE it to snow again.

We got a bit of sludgey snow a couple of weeks ago but nothing major as yet.

Better than last year at this time when we were already knee deep in it...

No snow yet in the UK, but it's forecast to drop to sub-zero (celsius) by the end of the week so who knows...

Here, in my suburb, I am still waiting for the first snow of the Millennium. It does snow in Hobart's highest suburbs (i.e. those in the foothills of the mountain) but the last time snow settled in my suburb was about 24 years ago.

I think we had some snow a couple of weeks ago, but it melted as soon as it hit the ground. A friend posted this morning that it was snowing in Scarborough (eastern Toronto), but it didn't snow in midtown that I know of.

It's supposed to be 14C with rain on Tuesday. I expect we won't be getting any snow for a bit yet (which I don't mind one bit, though I could do without the rain too).

No snow here in N.W. Ohio yet. East of Cleveland got some a week or two ago. Was out riding my motorcycle today. It's said we're gonna get some snow Thursday or Friday this week..... great ....

Greater Seattle-Tacoma, enjoying first snowfall of the year tonight. Sticking in the grass, but not yet on the pavement. Accumulation will likely be very light, but here in Western Washington snow of any kind is rare. Generally clouds disappear whenever it gets cold enough to snow... which isn't very often anyway. I've never seen a white Christmas.
