First snow of the year

No snow yet in London, UK. Heard it might be cold enough by Wednesday.
Today we had a high of 7 degrees centigrade, a low of 2 is expected tonight.

It's 70 degrees today, thunderstorming, and we're under a tornado watch. Totally normal for November. :wtf:

We've had a couple of snow dustings here in Santa Fe in the last week, but our prospects for the winter are pretty bleak.. That's life in a high desert climate..

No snow here yet thankfully but there may be some here in the UK later this week - I hope not.

Here in the Upper Pennisula of Michigan we had an exceptionally warm fall and the winter weather got to a late start. It would not be unusual to have a significant amount of snow on the ground by now, but at the moment we have only an inch or two. We're called Big Snow Country for a reason: we often get 300+ inches of snow a year.

Today's the coldest day I've ever experienced in Victoria, and we got maybe 2-3 inches of snow. Everyone went into a panic, buses were cancelled and schools closed. Growing up in Northern Ontario, I find this highly amusing.

(...well, ok, I wasn't amused while I was waiting an hour for a bus that's supposed to come every 10 minutes...)

At least it's a somewhat dry snow for here, most people panic not me you just have to use your head, and not drive like a moron.

and it is a little cold for Nov. I pity my Brother tonight in Calgary(-16°F [-33] with wind chill])

There's a little bit of snow left on the mountain from the storm a couple of days ago. For a short time the snow line was down to about 4000 ft./1220 m, causing some temporary road closures, but nothing too serious.

It is currently 32.6C in Hobart (about 90F).

*Spiders be damned, wants to teleport down there*

Here in the Sacramento Valley, Redding usually is either "threatened" with show or actually gets it (eliv: 500 ft/153 m). Chico at 245 ft/74 m is like Shatnertage says, once a decade or so.

This week, however, we have a freeze warning in effect, temps around 25 F/-4 C with a stiff north breeze. :(

The first bit of white dust on the wall surrounding the church outside my windows this morning, and the temp is -1... but apparently it actually snowed elsewhere; lots of cars have driven by with about an inch of snow still on them.

It snowed an inch or an inch and a half, and then cleared up and stayed frozen, with tempuratures dropping below 10 F yesterday. Right now it is 9 AM and still only 17 degrees, which is incredibly cold for this part of Washington.

A very bedraggled-looking journalist was just on the news, reporting from somewhere near Newcastle... the snow has started there, and it looked pretty heavy.

Down here in the south, no sign of snow yet, but it's definitely really cold, with a forecast for it to get colder still by the weekend.

Longer-range forecasts now suggesting "light snow showers" in my part of England on Sunday and again on Tuesday. That really is early in the year for snow here.

More freezing rain here tonight!

This fucking sucks. Just snow and get it over with, for fucksake.

^ Whereabouts are you, Goliath? We had freezing rain overnight that changed to snow this morning here in Ottawa.

Sudbury. So it was probably the same system.

The driving conditions were terrifying last night. We passed two cars that had been in a head-on collision on the road to the university.
