First Picard Show pic!

CBS' abbreviations for the show are not consistent: VGR, ENT and DSC.

Only one of them used the first 3 letters of the name. So Picard could be PIC, it could also be PCD, or PRD.

No real way to guess.

Oh man I knew it felt familiar:

So PIC then?

That's just it, the full abbreviation would be ST:PIC, just like ST:TNG or the others.

Then we just use the 3 letter part.

Another pic, nothing too shocking, just BTS stuff:

Better or worse than other Picard civvies?

That's assuming that's his filming clothes above (and not just regular street clothes he came in before changing)

Picard is into Han Solo cosplaying now.

Another shot confirms...they're still using the early DS9/VOY uniforms:

Those uniforms look good. While my favorite Trek uniforms are the TNG season 3+ uniforms, the DS9/VOY uniforms are my second favorite (well, third after the Star Trek II-VI costumes, but my second favorite of the TV show uniforms), so I'm glad we're getting come thing that is more in that style then the boring black/grey uniforms of later DS9/later TNG movies.

I thought people dressed like this when in civvies?

Not always. Sisko had some nice clothes from time to time and so did Jake as he got older. Same with stuff on "Voyager." Some of it looked passable for real stuff you might wear or I should say might wear back in the 1990's.

Not quite what I was getting at. I am absolutely certain the Picard show will be far different from TNG and the other 24th century shows. But it is nice that they grease the wheels with something identifiably "Star Trek" before moving onto the changes they are going to make.

This is what I kind of expect. I think everything Starfleeted related will be very much Berman era feeling. But I think we know Starfleet is not going to have a huge role on the show, at least compared to other Trek shows so once we move away and aboard the new ship and dealing with the new characters we will see a whole new look and feel. Not to different from what they did on "Discovery" this past season with the introduction of TOS looking uniforms but not really using that much. The one exception might be this hologram doctor. He could be the only regular who wears a Starfleet Uniform.

All of which to me sounds very good. Establish your in the same continuity then do new things within that continuity. "Discovery" could have saved itself some fan complaining by establishing some "TOS" uniforms early on in season 1 or have other Starfleet officers wear old style looking uniforms and say the Discovery ones were just for that ship.

It is actually quite rational. It is about visual continuity. Some folks care, some don't. But it is no less rational than people getting out-of-joint when there are story contradictions.
I do not agree. Story can flow from different places, but visual continuity can vary depending on length of time and changes.
