First Contact Remastered , what changes could be made ?

The original script for 'First Contact' had a neat sequence at the end where Picard and co (and I think possibly Lily - she was to originally go back to the future with them or something) arrive at Resurrection City on Earth, noting that everything is alright and back to normal (and seeing that statue of Zephram La Forge goes on about). That would have been nice to see, though it wouldn't work very well in the context of the film as-is.

Yeah, the ending as-is works very well. And bringing Lily back would draw inevitably comparisons to TVH... would she peck Picard on the cheek and say 'See you around the galaxy?'

At the start of the film during the Borg battle we see Voyager appear all of a sudden. We do a quick cut to the bridge where Janeway proclaims they made it back to Earh, everyone rejouices. Not realizing they're in the middle of a Borg battle they all die as the Voyager rams into the side of the Borg cube.

Then we cut into the Borg cube where the Queen goes "Did you guys hear something?" When no one answers she drops the question.

or have the cube run over the wreck twice "on accident"

I know this probably wouldn't flow with the movie but i'd like to see more of the EMH.

On a side note I liked that Crusher didn't like using it. It's almost like the hesitation to use the transporters when on "Enterprise"

I was never comfortable with the Enterprise "rescuing" the Defiant.

If it was remastered, I'd like to see that altered.

No way! That was the best part when the E-E comes swooping in!

In general, this movie had it all. I'd lengthen the opening battle as well, but that's about it.

I've seen the -e miniature in person, and if that thing was improperly done, I wonder how it was supposed to be better. ILM had almost no time to do the paint job, but it was a helluva model (by way of comparison, the FARRAGUT type ship, which was also on the same stage, looked like it was a blue cardboard cutout from Tower Record displays.)

I don't love the design, but geez, those shots of the ship early in the spacewalk in FC are pretty damned terrific.

I believe the OP was talking about the CGI E in FC. :)

"Heaven forbid we have to sit through a though provoking film about humanity's future. More EXPLOSIONS!!! Like ANDROMEDA!!!!!!111"

"Couldn't we have thought-provoking things and explosions?"

Yes! Holytomato, an Andromeda Fan tm.

Hmm, that's an interesting way of misrepresenting both sides, no? ;) First Contact is a fun movie, but it's not exactly a thoughtful meditation on futurism. It is an action movie, and it's quite shameless about this fact, right down to action movie tough guy catchphrases like "Assimilate this!"

And Andromeda's pyrotechnics are completely incompetent. People who like stuff getting blown up real good aren't going to hold up Andromeda as the poster-child. The show did focus on its mindless action, but it did it so insipidly. Even the less discerning are more likely to cite Star Wars and The Matrix and so on.

Not for a DS9 fan.

One ship is the Federation flagship and the hero ship for the film. The other is a glorified warship attached to a space station, and in a cameo role. The results are predictable, but not in my mind objectionable.

It's interesting that DS9 pointedly never mentioned that the Defiant was damaged.

It wasn't a DS9 movie we were watching?!?!

Holy crap. No wonder Sisko wasn't in it!
The fanboy in me wonders how awesome it'd be to have Sisko and Picard fighting the Borg in the same movie (imagine Sisko in Lily's place in the observation lounge). The storyteller in me then sits on the fanboy in me until it cries uncle. ;)

^^^That's all well and good until the scene where Lily kisses Picard. Can you imagine Avery Brooks trying to pull that off!?

It'd certainly have a slightly...different...legacy.

nothing needs to be changed, Ive seen it in Hi def and its beautiful on its own. Ok you got me, maybe a longer space fight.
