It's over. Hmm. It's really over.

I have to admit the ending gave me a lump in my throat too. Bittersweet. In a way, I'm glad it ended there. It's a suitable send-off to the franchise, in my humble opinion.

I wouldn't worry about Eli. He's just doing his job as the resident Ascended Fanboy/audience analogue. Just like we don't know if the show's ever coming back, and just like if there was another season we wouldn't know what was going to happen, Eli's waiting it out and doesn't know what the future holds. I'm sure he'll be fine - he is, after all, Math Boy! If anyone can figure it out, he can. Goodbye, Eli. Do not go gentle into that good night, Math Boy.

I liked the visualization of just how screwed they were. It reminded me of the Atlantis episode where they use some subspace Phlebotinum thingy to track all the Replicator ships in the galaxy (or was that Wraith ships?) and the screen gets filled with red dots.

Volker's analogy was awesome! "Paper covers rock every time, but if they throw scissors..."

You know, the cliffhanger doesn't really bother me as much as I thought it would. That was a great episode. Like someone said above, it's not a catastrophic 'we're all gonna die' cliffhanger, they just...keep on going.

I liked it, but not a very satisfying ending.
Great possibilities for future movies, books, etc.

One plot question - why the need to go around the outside of the galaxy? If they are staying in FTL, why not stay on the designated course? The drones can only harm them if they drop to sub-light speeds.

Loved this. It wasn't a perilous cliff-hanger, I would've hated that. We're just left with "They keep going", which is wonderful. Had there been a season 3, I predict they would've come out of stasis to find that Eli had died. On the other hand, the ship would've done some magical healing type stuff to Park & TJ.

-Eli with a beard and ponytail

- Half the crew are dead due a malfunction/unscheduled drop out of FTL

-Park's eyes are healed

-New Eli is more battle hardened. Probably knows about a few new races.

-Can new Eli be trusted?

My understanding was that they weren't going around the outside of this current galaxy. From the dialogue, they were less than 1/3 the way inside this galaxy, and the power requirements to jump to the next from their present position were so great that it forced this plan.

A shortcut, it would take longer to go through the galaxy from where they were, so they are going to cut around it.

I forgot to mention, I also liked the switch to a sort of Tron:Legacy soundtrack for the past few episodes.

Less stuff in the way. Judging by how they handled the gap between galaxies before, the ship can go much faster if it never needs to stop, and judging by how the ship reacted to the new star system in it's way, part of the reason it stops is to slightly adjust its course to go around things and get to other things. If they go above the plane of the ecliptic, where the stars thin out, they can make a straight shot to the next galaxy.

I also wonder if this is a case of the writers not thinking in 3 dimensions. Another galaxy would not necessarily be in the same plane as the galaxy you are in. In other words, if the galaxy were "above" you from the perspective of the galactic plane that you would simply point "up" and engage the FTL. There would be no need to go through the galaxy.

I hear Netflix is preparing to churn out its own TV shows, exclusive to their online subscription service. And that they're also thinking about experimenting with "bringing back" cancelled tv shows onto netflix, an environment where shows can be judged purely on recorded, online viewership.

I believe Destiny's course concerning galaxies is set, well it has to be, to follow the seed-ships. They can't just fly to any galaxy in the vicinity, it has tobe the one on Destiny's course.

Even though im sad to see the series and franchise end that was a really good finale to the whole Stargate franchise.
Sort of an ending but not really a cliffhanger.

I loved this show. Sucks that it's never gonna be finished properly, but this finale was a good way to end the series and probably the whole Stargate franchise.

I would have ended it with Eli typing on the key of one of the terminals, then the lights of the ship going out, him looking out the window, but then walking to the room with the learning chair. He sits down, the chair does its thing, and then he finds himself inside the ships computer with the only girl who has ever really loved him.

But that brings up two more questions - would Eli have gone right for the chair and his love, or tried to fix the chamber (failed), and then used the chair as a way to bet death?

SGU's finale scored 1.13 million viewers, its highest ratings since November. Lead in Sanctuary struggled to get 0.75 million but the replacement friday show Urban Legends is now only just above 1 million so SY FY why the hell was Sanctuary moved again?

I will always stick by my belief that SGU and Sanctuary could of and should of shared the 10pm post Smackdown slot around the entire year. SGU on fridays would of done enough to earn a 3rd season, simple as.

Syfy's ineptitude really knows no bounds. They're destroying Sanctuary's viewerbase just to give Urban Legends a bump. They really need to get their priorities straight, as getting Sanctuary safely to a profitable fifth season for the syndication deal must far outweigh the need to give a cheap new reality show a few extra viewers. They really don't seem to realise what damage these moves do. It's also interested to note how many viewers Sanctuary has lost when moved from the lead-in show that SGU would have otherwise had, makes you wonder if SGU could have survived till a third season were it not for them move.

It's over. What a shame. I'll miss this show. I felt for Park once again when she was stoned to Earth and got to see again.

I do like the tour of the darkening ship. It really mirrors the tour in the pilot well.
It was just like the beginning of the pilot, music and all.

I had wondered if SyFy might be classy enough to post some sort of brief message at the end saying goodbye or something about it being the end of an era to the Stargate fans who pretty much made the channel...of course not.
I was half expecting some sort of edited in message as well, but not a farewell to the show, more like a "they never returned home" type cap-off.

It looks like the writers did sense that the writing was on the wall, and opted to make a season finale that could both serve as a season or series finale in some sense whether it was renewed or not.
I never got any impression that they thought this could be the end and therefore wrote accordingly. From what I can tell, they knew the show was in trouble but figured they had at least one more year.

Stargate will be back someday. In what form? Who knows.

"they never returned home"

A Quantum Leap like ending? That would have been cool.

I loved the last few episodes. I especially loved the finale. Not so much the action, but the character interaction and the final moments. I really would have liked to see more...maybe we will get more. Who knows.
