"It's alive ... IT'S ALIVE!!!!!"

With those words, Dr. Frankenstein animated a collection of parts from different places as a new, whole being, and Ihlecreations challenged us to do much this same for July - to envision Star Trek as though the Great Bird of the Galaxy had shared a lab with other talented creators when he first put pen to paper (or fingers to keys!) . The results are pretty broad, as one would expect, but they all have one thing in common: They boldly go where no man has gone before!

This month, we seem to have gotten a little lax on submitting our entries, so I went through the threads to find a number of entries that may or may not have been their creators' final intent. I hope everyone accepts the responsibility of the challenge, and if they win, are ready to stimulate the creative juices for August. The poll will be up for 2 days, and then the winner will get the chance to post our new challenge; everyone can vote for two entries this time, since we have a few more than we've had in recent months.

Good luck, everyone!

Flux & Mudd for me, but I have to give props to Carpe for including a sombrero!

Wow - what a difficult choice once again! And I must admit not knowing all the referenced works so I am probably not doing all entrants justice.
My votes go to FluxCapacitator and Klaus, with an honorary mention going to Lensman for the well done weathered look of the title page.

Flux and PlanetMudd for me this time around. I thought this was a great competition this month. :)

Another great month from all of our great artists. For me, Flux simply captures the amalgamation of Suess and Roddenberry.

And all the Whos down in Whoville, the tall and the small (you know, Pete, Roger, John and Keith) congratulated Flux Capacitor on his win, at the local Who hall. :bolian:. Welcome, redshirts, dahoo, ramus!

Lots of great stuff this time (as always!) - thanks for entering, all; it's always fascinating, to coin a phrase, to see the many interpretations of the challenges, and this one was no exception!

So, Flux Capacitor - we hope you've been mulling it over - you're our August challenger! You hold the fate of - well, dozens - in your hands ;). We await your command!

Whoa, sweet! Thank you guys! I'll have the new contest details up soon, this one should be another fun one!

you mentioned submitting work, i am one of those who did it incorrectly. i am sure this has been addressed somewhere, but i cannot find the thread. if anyone has some instructions for the new kid, i would really like to join in the next time .

^^ We'll be sure to include those instructions in the thread for this month's challenge :bolian: .
