FINAL NUMBERS - $79.2 million Over 3.5 Days

When I watched the 1:40pm IMAX showing today, there were at least 60 people there, at $14 a pop.

There had to be close to 100 people in the one I went to. It was the 12:30pm showing. And the price of a ticket was $15.25

I put my $17.00 to the film on Sunday. Perhaps I will put more towards it again later this week, if I can find some people to go with me to see it.

The thing with this film is, there's just so much eye candy, and things happening in every scene... that one viewing just isn't enough to be able to digest it all. Hence, repeat business.

Not sure how much product they're pushing now ... but now that they realize this is a viable, profitable movie series again, XII will have all of this and more. It will be a very strange to see the market flooded with all manner of Star Trek junk again. It's been awhile.

The one thing they've done here from top to bottom is be smart. Leave 'em wanting more is the axiom to follow here, and that's what this movie did. Product merchandising is a bit different, since only the died-in-the-wool fan will purchase anything.

Like my four glasses from BK. And four toys. All unopened yet. Which they will remain until the sequel is announced.

Par said the $3 million bump was due to an unexpected showing of families looking for something to do on Mother's Day. Good word of mouth likely drew them to the multiplex.

Good, I'm glad you got it, and yes! If I were in charge, we would have Star Trek the Toilet Paper.

Great news about the opening box office.

It's wonderful news! I hope it just gets better. I'll be donating $16 more to it this week.
