Films that sucked, but everyone else liked...

Goldfinger.

Yeah.

I watched this one about 20 times before I turned 14 or so, then didn't watch it again till I was 30 or so.
Goldfinger just brings Bond with him for half the movie, telling him pretty much everything and letting him do most everything he wants and just hints at disposing of him later.
Yes, exactly. He keeps Bond alive for no reason only to tell him his plans and have him save the day at the end. Also the score is jarring, the song is nothing like the fat sod himself, and Pussy Galore isn't attractive at all.

A View to a Kill on the other hand, there's a Bond film I absolutely love and yet isn't very popular. Indeed, everything I said was wrong with Goldfinger is right with it. It's my favourite.

Has anyone mentioned The Shawshank Redemption? If I have to hear one more person call it the best film ever, I'll...roll my eyes. So some man is wrongly imprisoned, gets buggered, stops getting buggered, manages to escape unfeasibly and unfeasibly manages to set up a happy life for himself from the inside for when he gets out. In contrast, very few people any more have seen The Birdman of Alcatraz, and yet I think that's exponentially better and more moving.

Not sure if this is popular around these parts but Tenacious D: The Pick of Destiny is a cult favorite around my group of friends. But I cannot stand Jack Black and I don't like the movie but I have to stay silent becuase I'm always overruled like 12-1.

Same here. I was pretty disappointed, because people raved about this, and when I finally watched it...meh. Not my cup of tea at all.
