Filming starts January 15th. Jungle Planet?

Of Los Angeles museums which might be used as Trek locations, I'd think the Getty Museum (Getty Center, not the Pacific Palisades Roman villa) would be one of the likely candidates. Which "famous Star Trek location" would it be? Beats me, but you could cut it out of the Brentwood Hills landscape and drop it on any alien planet.

The jungle location has me thinking that there will possibly be alien planets that are visited in the new movie. That's alright with me!

They should have a different Delta Vega in every film. Perhaps young Captain Kirk will visit Yoda.

"Bigger in scope" sounds a little worrying (as in - What are they gonna blow up THIS time?). But, I'll wait and see. Thanks for that info.

It's Hollywood speak for "we're shooting more stuff outdoors on location and the story goes to more places". "Bigger in scope" gets thrown around all the time.

Could also be epic consequences, more light years between events, more ships, more planets, more aliens, more FX, more everything basically.

One of the earliest discussions from Orci & Kurtzman were that the wanted to not have a main villain, but wanted a planet to be the enemy. I could see the Enterprise crew trying to escape a hostile jungle. That would be cool.

But it could be done for a 2 hour big budget Hollywood movie? That kind of idea is great for an episode but for a movie?

zzzzzzzzzz I think not.

Rampant speculation: Perhaps the "famous location" will be Starbase 11! Pike is doomed! EJO for Mendez!
