FF XIII to be released on the 360!

It won't sell on the 360...

Bollocks...

Absolute nonsense...

Last I checked - Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, Mass Effect and Eternal Sonata were selling perfectly well on the system. Oh, and Oblivion is one of its best selling titles period.

And the game being multidisc might be one of the reasons why it won't sell on the 360...

Firstly, nobody knows how many discs it will ship on. Secondly, the aforementioned Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon are multi disc titles. So please refrain from talking out of your arse, and remove Sony's cock from your throat kthx.

Whoa there dude...
Take a chill pill...

I had the impression that Japanese games didn't sell that well on the 360 compared to Japanese games on the PS3...
So i was talking about J-rpgs...
But that was mostly based on Ridge Racer bombing on 360...

And if you get a warning it's not because of me, i'm not that easily vexed...

I'm, uh, I'm just going to go ahead and ask this.

Are you aware that it's perfectly acceptable to end a sentence with a period? :p

What's odd is that this is still PS3 exclusive in Japan... and Versus is still apparently PS3 exclusive.

I'm assuming it's some sort of combination of both... of course MS has the benefit of increased sales on their side. In Japan, that's less of a certainty, so they had less leverage in that market.

Yeah, there's almost no point in doing a Japanese 360 release since at most they'll sell 100k units? It'll probably cost a bit to print the games in the first place.

I'm fairly certain that there aren't any J-RPGs on the PS3 yet, they're all on the 360 so far.

Welcome to bizarro world where the American console that's sold like 16 units in Japan has all the JRPGs.

The PS3 has Enchanted Arms, but that game's the very definition of mediocrity on both systems.

There's a port of... ugh, I can't remember the name right now. That Chopin game... Trusty Bell in Japan.
There was also an exclusive PS3 RPG whose name I'm blanking on at the moment.

Valkyrie Profile?

No, he's thinking of Eternal Sonata- which after some doubt has been recently confirmed to be coming to the west.

Valkyrie Profile is a property owned by tri-Ace, who are also developing Infinite Undiscovery and Star Ocean 4 for the Xbox 360. This is as good a time as any to point out that these properties are also owned by tri-Ace - Squeenix's only involvement is as the publisher. It eats me up to see people talking about the aforementioned franchises as Squeenix titles, which they really aren't. Yeah, I'm a huge tri-Ace fanboy :)

However, coincidentally, Eternal Sonata was developed by tri-Crescendo, who are also independent and mainly composed of designers with a background in game audio at tri-Ace. In fact, to this day, the audio in tri-Ace games is handled by Motoi Sakuraba and the team at tri-Crescendo. tri-Crescendo's games are all published by Namco-Bandai.

The 'Valkyrie' game you're thinking of for PS3 is Sega's Valkyria Chronicles (produced by the always-reliable Toshihiro Nagoshi, and called Valkyrie of the Battlefield in Japan), which is due for a November 08 release in the west.

In terms of other exclusive PS3 RPGs, there aren't many...Level 5's White Knight Story will be good, and Nippon Ichi's Disgaea 3 is due out next month. There are also rumours of a PS3-exclusive Tales RPG from Namco...but that's just a rumour. The other PS3-exclusive JRPG Firehawk is probably thinking of is Folklore, though it's debatable if that's an RPG or not.

I'm not bothered about FFXIII going multi-format. I'm still planning to buy the PS3 version, because that's the system the game was originally designed for and should therefore be the best version.
