Cats don't care if you're sick or not. They either want you gone so they do cat things or filling their bowls.
ideally you'll be filling their bowl on the way out the door.
I would have to disagree. My boy wants companionship. If he wakes from a nap, and I'm not there, he comes to find me...so he can fall back asleep and nap in the room I'm in.
I've had similar experiences back when my family had cats and I happened to be ill.

Do you take Junior out for grooming?
Never in my entire life have I ever bathed a cat or taken one to the groomers---because I value my life.
I brush Junior every day and he never goes outside, so I have no need to wash him; he does a pretty good job keeping himself clean.
One of my Mom's cats was a black longhair that needed professional grooming from time to time. Because of the matting mostly.
I can hear the engine revving and the tires squealing!
