Halloween Cat!
My cat is a cold-blooded killer. He grabbed a wild rabbit by the neck and that was all she wrote.
Instinct - cats are more closely related to their wild cousins than modern dogs. At the same time, let a dog go feral and...same dead rabbit.
but the dog would be a lot bigger than the rabbit.
Not always. Our dog (1985-2001) was a Peek-a-poo. She cornered a rabbit once and then didn't know what to do with it because it was bigger than she was.

I had to say goodbye to my 16 year old male Gremlin Monday morning. Lots of health issues for many years but they got to be too much in recent weeks.
This is the cat I've been "watering" 2 or 3 times a day for 8+ years due to UT problems he had. He never had that trouble again and quite often peed up the side of the litterbox. Every day revolved around making sure he got his water and (later on) antacid and now I don't know I'm at a loose end.
It's been 3 years since my girl Maya went, so first time in 17 years I haven't had a cat underfoot.
