Feline Follies

This is my Casey last summer. As you can see, she is less than thrilled that her peace has been disturbed by her human woman clicking a picture of her.

To me, Junior is such a gorgeous cat...I just love him to pieces, I SOOO want to hug him and bury my fingers in his fur...:D

Casey is beautiful, too, but his fur isn't as long as Junior's.

^Casey's a she, Ghost. :) She's a happy girl. A few months ago, though... she was skinny as a rail and miserable. Thankfully, though, she's only got hyperthyroidism which is easily treated. :)

If she was put on tapazole, make sure you have her kidney function tested regularly, because the thyroid medicine can lead to kidney failure if not caught and treated quickly.

^She's on methimazole, Nerys. And fortunately, her kidney functions are very good. I was so mad at myself for not catching how much weight she'd dropped when we boarded her at the vet in the summer. When we got her back, she had more fur and was a happier cat. She slept on the bed with me again.

ETA: I checked the picture date and it was taken in August of 2010. Honestly, Casey hasn't changed much in three years other than the period of immense weight loss due to the hyperthyroid.

Aw! Junior says "thanks." Yes, his hair is very long and it's very, very soft. The undercoat doesn't shed as much as the dark top coat, but his hair is unusually soft. He's like a giant cotton ball.

That's good. It does sound like she's on a related drug, though, so definitely read up on the medicine and have her checked frequently for kidney function and any other issues that might arise.

Too many snuggly kitties in this thread! Yes, Junior looks ridiculously soft. Here's more pics of my guy complete with fun filters:

My sister had a cat that would turn the water on in the tub, then stand under the faucet to get very wet...then he would sneak up on either the dog or my sister, and pounce; making sure he splashed water on them. I thought that was so funny...

Heck, I had a cat who would wait til I got into the tub, then would jump in and swim around, using me as islands...:D

So, I think that video is sweet. Some cats enjoy the water...weird...but true.

I can't decide if this is cruel or sweet...

Depends. I once read a story about a cat that was knocked down by a car and lost the use of its front legs but through hydrotherapy the cat regained partial control and was able to walk again unaided.

I haven't posted in this thread! Here's Rory, having a nap:

He's the only cat I know that demands to have his tummy rubbed.
