Feline Follies

BJ, I've totally fallen in love with Diaper Kitty!

I think we all have-she's such a little trooper! And she's taken pity on the dog. What isn't to love?
Will Diaper Kitty ever be diaper free?
Dunno. There's a chance she'll get control of her bowels back as she heals, but it seems to be a much greater chance that she won't. Doesn't really matter that much to us either way at this point.

James relaxing in my dresser.

This happened yesterday.

Diaper kitty has discovered my wife's heating pad.

I think I'm in love!

She also seems to be the only cat out of the four that will get this close to our dog, who's harmless.

Side note: I hate my phone's crappy camera!

In that pic, she looks a lot like my Maya when she was about a year old. Same strong "M" on her head & everything.

This is Maya with her "uncle" Cisco about nine years ago.

Also kinda crappy photo, but from a fairly early digital camera.

Teacake suggested I post this here, after showing it in another thread.

This is my only photo of Cleo, who caught my eye 4 years ago on the Humane Society's website after my dog died. I seem to alternate between cats and dogs. She's about 9 now. This is HS photo I saw, and I followed her status for two weeks until she'd been there a month.

Her best trick is bugging me for 5 minutes until I get up and serve her favorite treats, which most recently happened about 10 minutes ago.

I can't look at the RSPCA website any more because I have three cats.. and I would happily have several more cats but we are only allowed to have two. Luckily for me several of my immediate neighbours have more cats than they are allowed as well.

Kitty Kegel exercises might help. ;)

Haha!

Did someone leave the drawer open, or can they climb inside. One of mine has no bottom, so the cats go under it and climb up into the drawers. I'm thinking of converting it into a kitty house when I finally get a newer one.

I'm thinking of getting my girlfriend a kitten, since one of her cats passed away recently.

A few weeks ago, we got a call from her brother that she wasn't acting right. We went over, and she was really weak, and couldn't stand up on her legs. She would sit there with her hind legs spread out, or lay on her side, but didn't move otherwise. We laid her down with a bowl of water, and she passed away a few hours later. She was 14 or 15, I believe.

I'm really sorry to hear that. I dread the day I am confronted with a similar scenario with my kitties.

Speaking of my kitties, here are a few more from when they were kittens. I can't remember if I've posted these in this thread before so if I'm repeating myself I apologize.

And here's a full grown Gimli sitting in his favourite position.

I wonder, do you still have her go in the litterbox and dig around & whatnot, so if all goes well she'll still have that behavior learned?

She has you pretty well trained up!;)

My sympathies TBS, she was beautiful!

I was putting my toilet paper in my bathroom vanity until I caught Manny under there sitting in a nest he made from a dozen shredded rolls.

Thanks! It was sad, but not unexpected. When I first met her cats almost a year ago, Maya was clearly not very healthy. She hardly ever moved from one spot, didn't clean herself very well, and had really bad dry skin and dandruff. She didn't have the best quality of life, and had lived much longer than any other cat I've known.

In fact, every cat I or any of my friends has owned was either given away for various reasons, passed from disease, or ran away. This is the first I've known that passed from natural causes.

When she's diaper-free in the crate, she'll occasionally go into the litter pan and squat, trying to go even though nothing has happened on command yet. So she does know how, we just have to wait and see if she can.

Tonight I bought her one of those feathery catnip toys on a string and a stick. She seems to really like jumping around and catching it. But still wants a treat for entertaining me.
