Just biding time until I take Puzzle to the vet to help him cross the rainbow bridge. His poor little body has been shutting down the past year. He's almost 18 and has been with me for over 17 years. It wasn't an easy decision, but while it appears he's not in too much pain, I can tell it is a struggle and his spark is fading.

Oh, I'm so sorry! What a beautiful boy. I'm sure he gave you years of love and companionship. You have my deepest sympathies.

That is something I'm dreading as well. Smokey (who actually looks a LOT like Puzzle) is almost 18 now and is getting a bit more slow, unsteady etc. I had to take her 'brother by another mother' Bandit to the vet just a bit more than 1 1/2 years back and that still smarts at times.

I don't envy you one bit.

I remember your telling of the story of how you found puzzle, in the zoom chat, with puzzle right there,.. it’s sad to hear that puzzle is at the last puzzle piece,.. it’s so hard to loose an old friend like that,.
