Feelings Halfway Through The Series

There was more than one Facebook critic who repeatedly stated that the BBC was trying to eliminate white males from all of their shows. They actually called it ‘white male genocide’.

I think the BBC, As far as Doctor Who is concerned, is doing a poor job of their ‘WMG’ as the most popular character in the current series seems to be an older, white male. Also the plot of the first episode was to save a young white male.

It is sad that just putting more people of colour, and more women on TV and in movies is seen as ‘white male genocide’ when most of the prominent roles on film are still going to white males. I cannot wait until the first black James Bond is announced to see the reaction to that.

Just think of the reaction if they switched to a female Bond.

With regard The Doctor I think there might have been less of an issue amongst certain fans if they had switched to a non-white male.

Sexism is still far more socially acceptable than it should be.

Wasn’t that pretty much what ‘Atomic Blonde’ was? Between that, Black Widow & Red Sparrow, I think a female Bond would go over surprisingly well. All they’d have to NOT do is say that ‘Jane’ is the same person post gender reassignment surgery, but another agent who’s partially adopted the code name of the now retired (killed?) James.

Or she could just be another agent i.e. 006. I don't see why we can't have both a series of James Bond 007 movies and a film or film series of a female 00 agent.

Even batter- A series of stand-alone 00 films to release during the breaks between Bond films. Just like the stand alone Star Wars movies. Each one could feature one or more other 00 agents.
