Fear of flying?

I can fly, but I don't consider it a pleasant experience, especially not during take off and landing, where I'm often scared out of a mind. I always picture the plane not lifting or stopping in time, and therefore crash into the airport building.

I love flying, myself. Especially on Porter Airlines, because I've never been on any airline that treats customers better. As an example, I flew on them yesterday, and this was my included meal:

Nope, love flying. But I am afriad of heights oddly enough

You can't really tell heights very well when you're flying, which may be why.

Every single time I approach a runway to land and they have a little shed or something out off the end of it, I look down and say, "That's hilarious, someone put a toy shed there to make it look like I'm higher than I am......umm....I think?"

I don't mind flying, I seldom do but will be traveling in a couple weeks. You're so much more likely to die in the car on the way to the airport.

I guess the big change was having kids and realizing that I am now responsible for more than just me.

Yep, I hear what you're saying. Since having a daughter, everytime I catch myself doing something dumb, I've started telling myself, "take care of <daughter's name> Daddy!" That's good motivation to play things safer.

I don't have a fear of flying, as such - but as I'm extremely susceptible to motion sickness I'd be worrying about that quite a lot should I ever have to fly anywhere. I'm the same with boats and ships, too. I get that type of motion sickness that messes with your head as much as it does with your stomach, so I'd be off to the doctors/chemist to see what pills and potions were available.

Sad thing is that is what passes for good customer service these days.

I remember flying and getting a large, cooked meal. Yes this was in the jet age. To find out about flying while wearing goggles and leather...see Mallory :D

All I remember about this gilded age of passenger flight is that every damn time without fail they always ran out of lasagna before they got to me. Fucking chicken, fuck it right up the butt with a broomstick.
