Favourite ship design?

Just to start things off, what is your favourite ship or even ships in the Star Wars Saga?

Mine would either be the B-Wing or the Jedi Cruisers/Star Destroyers in Sith and Clone Wars

I've always loved the A-Wing, ever since my time with LucasArts' X-Wing/TIE Fighter franchise. Maneuvers like nobody's business. My choice starfighter in most scraps.

For design discussion, however, I have to hand it to the Falcon, trite an answer as that maybe. She's just. So. Cool.

For canon Capital ships, the Venator Class Star Destroyers are my favorite. For old EU, it was the Victory Class Star destroyer, which is still my favorite overall Capital ship.

For kind of medium sized ships, the Slave I or the Millenium Falcon would be my favorite canon ships, and for old EU the YT-2400, the Lady Luck and the Jade Shadow are pretty much tied.

For fighters, canon wise its probably a tie between X-Wing and A-Wing, and old EU it would be the Skipray Blastboat or the E-Wing.

Star Destroyers (any version) are my favorite SW capital ships.

As for fighters, it's definitely the B-wing, though I'm wondering why they call it that since it sure doesn't look like a B.

B-Wings. (Apparently its named that way because it looks like a B-lade.)
Corellian Corvette.
Obi-Wan's fighter from AOTC. (One of the few things I actually like from that movie.)

And of course...
The Millennium Falcon.

The X-Wing.. pure and simple.

For capital ships it's the Super Stardestroyer.. i just love the scene in Empire Strikes Back when its shadow slowly creeps over the already huge Imperial class Stardestroyers until it is revealed in full glory.

Do you know why they call it a "B-wing"?

B-cause.

I can't B-lieve that...

As for the Super Star Destroyer: It gets brought down awfully easily (what was it, just one fighter crashing into the bridge?) for a ship that size...

My favorite OT ship?

The TIE fighter. Simple, yet elegant and instantly recognizable. It was the first "space" ship I had ever seen that looked like it was designed to fight in space. it wasn't streamlined or sleek, but it had a killer sound and was easy to draw when I doodled space battles during class.

MLB - you may recall Admiral Ackbar ordering all fire to be concentrated on the Super Star Destroyer a few moments BEFORE the fight crashes into the bridge shield generator. It wasn't brought down by one fighter - that crash was just the coup de grace.

Fighter: X-wing
Capital ship: Star Destroyer
New movie: Kylo Ren's shuttle

I'm gonna be the weird one here I guess and say I really really liked the Naboo ship designs from the prequels. Episode 2 in particular - despite being shit, it had a pair of gorgeous ships in the Diplomatic Barge and of course the Nubian.

I remember that now. Much apologizings for my poor research... :alienblush:

Tough choice, I love the B-Wing, Super Star Destroyer, Naboo Fighter and the X-Wing, though the updated version has the potential to replace the last one, especially Poe's black-orange one...

For me, hands down, the Corellian Corvette (the class of Princess Leia's consular ship/blockade runner, Tantive IV).

It reminds me a little bit of the Eagle transporter from Space: 1999, especially from the angle shown in the second shot of A New Hope.

Initially, it was intended to be the Millennium Falcon. At that time, the ship was eventually adapted to become (by EU standards) the Corellian Gunship. (Three large engines, same general body, but the hammer head was instead in-line with the body of the ship, as opposed to perpendicular. When the design for the Millennium Falcon came to be, the Corellian Corvette (or as it was known then, the consular ship, or galactic cruiser) was born. (This is all IIRC.) :)

Fighters? The X-wing and the TIE Interceptor
