i think my favorite scene of the series so far is the last 5? 10? minutes of "will you take my hand?". from the zoom in to paris to the zoom away from earth, it's like the show suddenly clicked for me. burnham's reunion with her family and her speech at federation headquarters is the first time i felt the pathos the show was trying to sell. it's also a bit of a mission statement for the series saying they're interested in being more optimistic, more trek-like going forward, which it has very obviously attempted to follow through on. not a very exciting favorite, i'm afraid.
