Favourite pizza?

My personal favourite is probably Pavarazzi's Gourment Pizza, a place with just a couple of stores here in Ottawa. Close second would be another local chain, Colonnade Pizza. We actually have a bunch of local pizza chains, now that I think about it... there are at least two more that I quite enjoy.

Of the big chains, I tend to prefer Pizza Pizza. It's not fantastic, by any stretch, but it's not terrible, either, especially when it's fresh. Hard to beat the prices, too.

And my preferred toppings: chicken, bacon, hot banana peppers, black olives, onions, and BBQ sauce. I'll often just get the chicken, peppers, and sauce to save money on toppings, though.

I like pizza with sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms and onions. Sometimes with bits of ground beef as well. The more dead animals on it, the better. :techman:

You had me right up till you said "onions".

Vile things, I can tell if my pizza was cooked in the same oven with a pizza w/onions or peppers.

There aren't any good local pizza places in my area, so I have to settle for the big chains. My favorite combination of toppings is pepperoni, pineapple, and extra cheese, with some crushed red pepper sprinkled on top.

I love pizza! Trouble is, where I am in the UK, the best takeaway pizza we can get is from Domino's (and in the UK, Domino's ain't really that great). I like traditional ristorante pizza too, to the point where i've considered investing in a Masonry Oven, to make my own

A large mushroom and pepperoni with extra onions.

And a Michelob. ;)

I live with two vegetarians, so it's boring old cheese pizza all the time for me.

Best pizza?

Neapolitan-style crust (thin but not too thin), San Marzano tomatoes, mozzarella di bufala campana as cheese, Emilian sausage, porcini mushrooms, a drizzle of extra-virgin olive oil.

No contest.

I hate to say it but when i went to europe at age 19, we spent some time in Italy and i.hated.the.pizza.there. I know! I know!

The husband and i have been married 30+ years and every friday night (unless something comes up) we have had pizza for dinner. We'd get it from the best pizza place EVER that was in the next town until it was discovered that the owner was a convicted pedophile (lovely, right?) We stopped going there and had to find another place to go to.

So, we started going to the place here in out town. But after a few years it got boring. So now, every other friday we buy from them and on the off week we make our own using a boboli crust. We usually put sauce, chopped tomato with garlic and oil, mushrooms, zucchini, black olives and cheese on it. And OMG, it is from heaven! And we make two of them so on Sat or Sun night we eat the second one, reheated i swear it is almost better than when it's fresh! And that way if we have a busy weekend we don't have to cook one night. It's awesome!

From the chains near me, I like Papa Johns because the crust has a very different, deeper flavour to any of the rest. Their Works pizza adds some pretty good toppings too, and their Pepperoni Plus isn't bad either. There's a couple of independent places that do a reasonable pizza too, but I can't say any pizza place here is truly outstanding. Frankly - and this will doubtless displease the pizza fans - I consider pizza to be junk/treat type food, not something I look or expect a gourmet experience from (and yes, this applies just as much to eating pizza when in Italy too). But Papa Johns is probably my favourite from what we have.

So the man serves the time for his crime and makes atonement, but you still shun him and deny his service, even though it is superior?

I know a guy who made a single mistake in his life as a young man, and got put on the list forever. One of the greatest people I know, been married to a lovely lady for something like forty years and has a great family.

People can change, but only if you give them a chance.

That is YR's right. If she is uncomfortable going there, she has every right not to.

Sorry...but I wouldn't give a pedophile a chance around my children. Recidivism rates for pedophilia are quite high compared to other sex crimes, and I would not take that chance. But then I personally believe pedophilia, due to the extreme effects it has on a person, for life, should merit either life in prison or the death penalty, automatically.

I would never dream of saying that about a 19 year old who got caught having consensual sex with a 17 year old and got put on the list for statutory rape, but when it comes to pedophiles...I am sorry, but I just think the danger is too great.

I do not want to derail this thread but....

You're damn fucking straight. He was NOT a 19 year old, he was a 35 year old. He was arrested MULTIPLE times for acts. This is the same pedophile that moved in two doors down from me. When i was notified by the cops (thanks to the law, which btw, sucks ass because by law at the time, people only within a TWO DOOR RADIUS had to be told), and i asked the cops did i need to worry their reply was, "Mrs. M, i cannot tell you what he was arrested for, only what he pled down to and was convicted of. Yes, i would worry." THE COPS WORDS.

He was a level 3 (most likely to repeat offend) and he did after that last conviction. So yeah, fuck it, i'm NOT going to go to his pizza parlor (another loophole. Who goes to pizza parlors? FUCKING KIDS DO.)

Thank you MLB and Nerys.

So, Subcommander, come back to me when you have kids and a repeat convicted pedophile moves in or opens a pizza place near you. THEN we'll talk.

My favorite is a mom and pops small business New York style pizza, but I don't have any of those that deliver where I'm at so I usually end up ordering Papa John's.

I like Papa John's a lot better than other chains BUT if it's a little undercooked it makes me sick. This happens like 1 in 20 times I order it. I still order it, anyway.

The only bad thing about Papa John's is that the smallest size pizza they make is medium. I can't eat a whole medium pizza in one go, and their pizza tastes like $)#(*%( as leftovers...

I think it's great if you reheat it in the oven. Preheat to 400 degrees, cook about 15 minutes to get the cheese all nice and gooey.

My favourite is a deep pan meat feast or pepperoni. Or just any form of meat on it at all.

Don't really care where I get it from, even supermarket ones are passable, but Pizza Hut does some really nice ones, just too filling.

When I was in Italy, all I would eat were pizzas. Well, about all. Their pizzas are so good. If there was one reason for loving a country, it would be Italy's pizzas. And you can't get away from them. Pizza parlours in every backstreet, at least where I went.
