I didn't forget; those were lasers.p.s.- You forgot the phasers from The Cage/Menagerie.
Gotta to go with the TFF/TUC assault phasers (which were different from the TSFS phasers by the way) as the best phasers.

But personally, I like the SFS phasers better- they were sleeker. But I can see why one would choose the FF/UC ones; they were very cool also.
As phasers go, I'm just a prisoner of the past, I guess.
TNG dustbusters are just laughable IMO. TMP ones leave me all *meh*. The new 'flip-phone' ones aren't terrible, but the OS & SFS & FF & UC are the coolest IMO.

I agree! But TSFS phasers are pretty good too. Too bad the props were stolen off the set. Nothing to work off of to produce a cool toy. I may have to make one myself...
I really, really, really want a replica of one of those assault phasers from ST VI. I like the TOS classics, sure, but it really looks dated for my tastes.
You know what's interesting about the phasers in the new movie? Recoil. Pull the trigger, a energy projectile goes out, and there's a kickback. I wonder if the muzzle-rise is actually realistic as there's no slide / frame combination like semi-autos today.

I liked the TMP/TWOK phasers because of their sleek simplicity.
I'm going with the III/V/VI phaser. I keep remembering the scene in VI when Scotty takes out the would-be assassin.
TOS - Just a classic design that still looks great.
TOS, but the assault phaser is a very close second

Now I can cast my vote. And the winner is.... [drum roll]... TOS!!!
Nothing looks as detailed and realistic as the original. The others are either lacking in detail (TMP) or bulky (TSFS) or cleaning appliances (TNG era), IMO.
It's a little less bulky when you consider its actual size- I think it's not too bad myself, but the ST5 & 6 assault phaser looks more like something that belongs on the new Battlestar Galactica...

TOS phaser for coloring and design ... but I do love the TFF one as well, just as (for me) it being a 'bold reimagining' (words I usually hate to use, since it is rarely true.)
Hate the TMP water pistols and think the SFS ones aren't even credible as toys. Less said about TNG-era weapon props, the better, but to be fair, the rusty turds from the abrams film are even worse.
