Favourite One-Shot Characters

Shelby was a great character. I would have loved to see her as Captain of the Voyager instead of Janeway. It would have made a more interesting series.

Course, then the writers would have had 10x more Borg episodes because she had experience with them so they had to.

It would have been great if she was in First Contact somehow too.

^ Heh... I didn't even notice the misspelling, as long as I knew who it referred to. :)

Although now that I think of, it's a bit creepy since "Metzger" was the name of a particularly hateful neo-nazi guard on HBO's Oz.

i always thought the romulan captain in 'face of the enemy' was cool....didn't much care for anything but the mission, hated the tal shiar, was cool under fire. much like mark leonard's turn as the romulan commander in the original series, it seemed she had a great deal of integrity

Tomolak. IMO, he had the potential to be a recurring adversary in TNG, far more endearing than Sela.

Of all time, for me, where Lokai and Bele from Let That Be Your Last Battlefield. The Les Miserables connection was quite strong. I also loved their bizarre half-black/half-white complexions. -- RR

IMHO, Lokai and Bele are two of the most annoying characters ever to appear on Trek TOS — for which I blame the script more than the actors Frank Gorshin and Lou Antonio. The characters spend the whole episode spouting clichés about racism, bigotry and intolerance, and generally trying to out-overact William Shatner. If I were Captain Kirk, I would have shoved both of them out of an airlock.

One of my favorites is Marlena (Barbara Luna), the Captain’s Woman in “Mirror, Mirror.” Talk about rank having its privileges — in the Mirrorverse, a starship captain gets his own official ho’!

Did the moon girl from Valiant ever make a comeback?

If not she should have died with the rest of them lol

He appeared more than once. He was a recurring character. I just watched "The Ensigns of Command" again recently and I really liked the the colonist who has a crush on Data. She was very sweet. :)

Well, a number of characters already mentioned in this thread appeared a couple of times as well. I think he appeared 4 times, but only 2 of which actually stood for something, both in season 3.

One-off appearances wise, I suppose the female Romulan Commander in The Enterprise Incident. I believe she was due to make a reappearance in Face Of The Enemy as well, although I apparently the actress was unavailable.

How could any character played by Carolyn Seymour *not* be cool? :rommie:
I had no idea what the actress' name was, but Commander Toreth is on my short list of best one-off characters. :techman:

I think an opportunity might have been missed, because she also played another Romulan commander in Contagion.
I also like the holodeck character she played in a couple of episodes of Voyager in that Victorian drama novel.

It would have been nice to see more of Captain Morgan Bateson played by the wonderful Kelsey Grammer. :)

Warmest Wishes,
Whoa Nellie

Fionnula Flanagan as V'Lar from ENT's "Fallen Hero". Wonderful actress (with a few previous Trek credits under her belt as well) and a fully fleshed-out, interesting character. She made that episode.
