I've only seen Buffy and Angel so far, and while I like Angel, Buffy is clearly ahead.

Oh, and later seasons of Buffy are awesome. Or at least season 6 and season 5 are, season 7 has quite a few weaknesses but it underrated. "Buffy was only good in early seasons" is a view that I really don't get, since only season 3 and the second part of season 2 qualify as great TV. Season 1 is not nearly on the same level as the rest of the show, and season 2 is inconsistent and has some of the greatest but also some of the lamest episodes. Season 4 is transitional and has some amazing episodes but also the weakest overall arc (also the weakness of season 7).

I've only seen Firefly/Serenity so I can't give an opinion on the other shows. I absolutely LOVE this series and movie and they make me happy!

Liked Firefly, disliked Serenity, saw part of an episode of Angel and thought it looked interesting, saw part of an episode of Buffy and thought it looked horrible, and I haven't seen a second of Dollhouse.

1. Firefly--the only one for which I have any real affection. The dialogue, the tone, the cast--it really clicked for me. Of course, I am aware that this one wasn't on long enough to really screw it up.
2. Buffy. Some interesting characters, but a bit too self-consciously cutesy at time. Not appointment viewing for me, at all, but there were a few episodes that I thought were well done.
3. Liked some of the later seasons, but didn't like the lead characters much. Fairly "meh" most of the time.
4. Dollhouse. Extremely uneven, and driven by, what I found to be, a thinly disguised prostitution festish that left me feeling like I needed to wash after every episode. The supporting cast were excellent, but the lead actress was so dreadful that I kept wishing she'd get killed off.

Hubby, however, worships Whedon, and insists we watch every damn episode of everything he does.

Angel, then Buffy then Firefly. Never seen Dollhouse.

Angel, s4 aside, was pretty damn near perfect, and gains points for three things (even above and byond anything else)

1. Making Wesley the coolest man in the universe!
2. Presenting us with the Cordelia/Angel romance and have it make so much more sense than Angel/Buffy.
3. The final episode, and the final scene. Frankly if it wasn't for the last scene of Blakes 7 or Babylon 5 that'd be the greatest end to a series ever!

Buffy just went on too long, and I kinda stopped cared as much once we hit season 5 and it got so damn depressing! The final season picked up a bit.

Firefly, I dunno. I think I'm hamstrung by the fact that I didn't see it originally, so by the time I did so many people had claimed it was the Best Series Ever (tm) that it couldn't hope to live up to expectations. Great cast, but it never quite felt dramatic enough, I realise our heroes will usually never be in actual danger, but too many episodes of FF had quick resolve endings that drained any drama out of the show. Strangely I love the film though! I only like the series.

Poor Dollhouse. :guffaw:

For me: Firefly, Dollhouse, Angel, Buffy

I've probably seen 90% of Angel through reruns but not necessarily in perfect order. Buffy I've only seen a little of but just not for me.

I think it's also more of a genre as I prefer the sci-fi of Firefly/Dollhouse to the fantasy of Angel/Buffy.

I know. I keep meaning to, but never get around to it. My sister has all the DVDs though, so I can borrow them from her.
