Favourite Cancelled Series

Never mind what I said about Disorderly Conduct - apparently it's not cancelled at all. Spike will have new episodes - season 3, I believe - starting Feb. 3! :techman:

TOS
24th-century Trek (I'll count that as a cancellation, since there should have been post-VOY series starting in 2001 instead of ENT.)

Eight is Enough: They simply don't make TV that good anymore.

SeaQuest DSV and Sliders: Even though both lasted for several years, it's only their first seasons that count. Both were rebooted, and both became shit.

Battlestar Galactica 1978: the definitive version of the ragtag fleet cut down WAY before it's time.

Alien Nation (I know they made the movies later)
Wonderfalls
Firefly
Exo-Squad
Carnivale
Mann & Machine

Forever Knight

Studio 60

Twin Peaks

Sports Night

Night Stalker- both versions. I remember watching the original with my Dad.

I've got my fingers crossed that Reaper doesn't get the axe.

Richie Brockelman, Private Eye. Only five freaking episodes? Poor damn show never had a chance. Firefly had it good compared to poor Richie.

Wizards and Warriors with Jeff Conaway (B5's Zach Allen) Imagine people playing a Dungeons and Dragons game, then using the run as a basis for scripts. It was absurd, ridiculous and hysterical. Also from the era, Quark, the adventures of an interstellar garbage collector, a journey into the absurd.

I always miss Earth 2. Not a great show.. but there were a few things I liked. I remember reading Lost articles before it came out and I thought it was a rip off of sorts until I actually watched the show.

seaquest now that was a good series, well the first season anyways it was like an underwater star trek

Well, having just finished watching it, Firefly to be sure. I'm surprised it didn't get more of a following. For me, the show was more or less about what a Star Wars show centered around the character of Han Solo would probably look like. All of the characters on Serenity were really unique and interesting it had a good mystery going centered around River. I'm glad at least they got a full-length movie to help at provide at least some answers/closure to the story. Although doubtful, it would be nice if they could make some additional movies- even if they were only direct-to-DVD. I somehow doubt it would happen, however.

I would've liked to have seen another season of Angel although I'm glad it at least got the five it did. I read somewhere that they might not have killed Wesley off and that they were planning to do some things with Illyria that would make it so that Fred might "re-emerge" sort of like a dual entity. This was sort of hinted at in the show. Also, there were rumors that Oz might join the cast as well. However, given that that they had to wrap things off the latter part of S5 was very strong and I particularly enjoyed the last two episodes. Also, I simply don't know *how* I would've ended the series differently. I just can't.

Although I feel satisfied with Babylon 5's 5 seasons (the first and last of which served mostly as "bookends" for the middle three seasons) there are still, of course, some storylines hinted at that have yet to see the light of day (and may never) such as the Drakh War and the Telepath War.

I don't know what the story is about the original (G1) Transformers series. I know that they finished Season 3 and started Season 4 but then it mysteriously ended 3 episodes in with the conclusion of the "Rebirth" trilogy. Of course, I had kind of stopped watching the show for most of Season 3 since I was so crushed by Optimus Prime's death in the movie- that was, of course, rectified by "The Return of Optimus Prime" two-parter at the end of Season 3 (which I actually willed myself sick in order to stay home from Boy Scouts to watch:devil:).

Tru Calling was stopped just as it was starting to get really interesting. Although the conceit was in danger of getting worn out after the first few episodes, the writers kept finding new ways to shake things up and make things harder for Tru to save people. And when they brought in a "nemesis" (Jason Priestly) -who was trying to do the exact opposite of what she was doing- the show got even better and the end of the first season was simply stunning. The writers kept shaking things up in terms of the overall story arc and characters right until the end. The last episode (which may not have been aired- I'm not sure- I got it on DVD) was quite a duzy in terms of revelations. I loved the theme song to the show and if anybody can find a recording of Full Blown Rose's cover of Phil Collin's "In The Air Tonight" PLEASE let me know!!!
Plus: Eliza Dushku!! Need I say more?

Eerie, Indiana. I LOVED that show. I've got its one and only season on DVD, but more episodes would be great.

I am also very fond of another one-season wonder -- Brisco County Jr. Alas, alas. It too is on DVD, but I want more.

And then, to mention something from the current century, there's The Dresden Files. I saw half an episode and loved it, then saw a full episode...and then it went away. Every now and then, you used to hear that it would be brought back, but so far nuthin' as far as I can tell. Yes, I know there are lots of books, and I've enjoyed several of them, but still...

Ooh, and I'd forgotten all about My World and Welcome To It, Trevanian. Cool, cool show.

Animated series, Mission Hill, The oblongs, Strooker & Hoop. Live-Action series, ENTERPRISE,( Should have had at least one more season ) CRUSADE ( spin-off to Babylon 5, it had a TON! of potential). The Flash ( 1990-1991 ) just like the hero, it was gone in a Flash!.

I remember watching and loving that every weekend, though I'm not sure I could watch it back. It's be too weird seeing it now.

^I worried a bit about whether I'd like it now as much as I did then, Jamesstyler, and the answer is that I really do. In fact, it even had a final episode that I missed somehow or other the first time around -- and it was a very worthy final episode, too. Not many cancelled shows manage to pull that off.
