Favourite Bond films

By actor, my favorites are:

Connery: Thunderball
Moore: Moonraker
Dalton: The Living Daylights
Brosnan: The World is Not Enough
Craig: never really though about it, but Casino Royale was okay.

In my late teens and early 20s, I thought OHMSS was a load of old cobblers. But now I love it and it's one of my favourite Bond films. It's one of the few 007 films where I notice a new detail in it every time I re-watch it.

Agree completely

As for Dalton you can take the spy out of Derbyshire, but you can't take Derbyshire out of the spy :p

That's what I could never understand. Isn't he supposed to be Welsh? He never sounded it.

Well it took me two days but I finished The Spy Who Loved Me. It started out really good but then felt very drawn out, and I became bored.

Really? I thought the battle in the Liparus towards the end was pretty top notch.

Gotta love the "Disco Bond" music too.

It just seemed to drag on and on but the ending was hilarious! Very "Bond."

Over the next few days I'll probably finish RM's movies. All I have left is The Man With The Golden Gun, Moonraker, and A View To Kill. Then Goldfinger (don't really have an interest in any other SC ones) and Licence To Kill.

TMWTGG is a guilty pleasure of mine. Yes, it's cheesy as all getout, but Christopher Lee makes for a great villain, and it's also got great exotic locales.

Moonraker is pretty much a complete rehash of TSWLM. Just replace the sea with space. It's a weaker film, although it does feel a little more polished, production design and special effects wise.

A View to a Kill is at the absolute bottom of my rankings. Just an awful, tired, cringe-worthy film. They really should've retired Moore after Octopussy. The only thing I like about it is the awesome Duran Duran theme. :techman:

I'll do a top five, although there aren't that many good ones to pick from.

1) Casino Royale
2) Skyfall
3) From Russia With Love
4) Goldeneye
5) On Her Majesty's Secret Service

The only others ones I'd really rewatch are Quantum of Solace, Live and Let Die, and For Your Eyes Only. I should probably rewatch The Living Daylights, though.

If it's that bad, maybe I should skip it?

You should make your mind up yourself and watch it. You might like it, who knows?

Agreed. A View to a Kill is not one of my favorite Bond films either, but it's far from the worst, and certainly better than anything Dan Craig has done (and some of his aren't bad either).

But don't take my word for it. Watch it and decide for yourself.

Christopher Walken is easily the best thing about View, and only reason I'd watch again.

And relatively restrained Walken at that :)

I always wanted to hear Walken read nursery rhymes:

There once was a woman...who lived in a shoe...okay...with all these...kids...until one day...they just killed her...with this...spoon...so good night...and sweet dreams.

I really love the scenes between Roger Moore and Patrick MacNee in A View to a Kill. They have some great chemistry together. Along with the serious, they also have some funny exchanges which always brings a smile to my face.

Born in Wales but the family moved to Derbyshire when he was v little.

Ah, ok. Thanks.

My first girlfriend lived in Ashbourne. At the time Dalton's brother ran a video shop in the town

AVTAK has some nice moments, but its almost like they're going out of their way to emphasise how old Rog is. Walken is so young and dynamic, and sticking MacNee in just emphasises it more (though it would have been a real shift if he'd effectively been the Bond girl as the two of them have a good rapport.) But Moneypenny, Q, M...everyone on Bond's side just looks so old compared to Zorin's crew.

And I actually think Walken would have made a better Bond villain when he was a bit older as well.

Goldeneye
Skyfall
Goldfinger
Tomrrow Never Dies
License to Kill

That's pretty much my Top 5 of the films I've seen.
