Favorite Upcoming Book?

And yes, the Destiny trilogy was intended to be a tie-in to the movie. But that only affects the content of the books, not the number of them, since Destiny takes up three spaces in the regular monthly release schedule for mass-market paperbacks. If it hadn't been Destiny, it would've been three other books.
Forgive me, Christopher, but I have to correct you on this point. Destiny was absolutely not a tie-in to the new Star Trek movie in any way, shape, or form. In fact, the content of the trilogy was developed specifically to avoid any potential content-related conflicts between the two.

That said, I certainly was hoping that the timing of the trilogy's release would coincide with that of the movie, and that the attendant peak of fan interest in the franchise at that time would spur stronger sales of the trilogy. Alas, that is not to be.

Nope.

From Pocket for 2009:
Mirror Universe: Shards and Shadows
Mere Anarchy
Seven Deadly Sins
Myriad Universes 3
CoE: Out of the Cocoon

Psst. ENT: The Romulan War and NF: Traitor.

Fictitiously yours, Trent Roman
Curses!

Though in my defense, I have no recollection of Rom War being announced as a TPB (and I'm not 100% convinced Memory Beta has the schedule 100% accurate, either, but for now I'll concede the argument).

Yeah, it was. (I remember because I bitched about it :shifty:). But KRAD recently reposted his list, and you'll see he has (tp) next to that entry.

That's what I meant -- not a story tie-in, just a promotional tie-in, a big prominent work that was developed to boost interest in the books at the same time (supposedly) that the movie was renewing interest in the franchise. I should've been clearer on how I was using the term "tie-in."

^ Certainly not the times you wrote for me.................................. ;)

Is CoE: Out of the Cocoon going to take up a monthly slot? I hope not as I already probably own all of them as eBooks.

^ It's a trade paperback, so it doesn't factor into the general "one mmpb per month" scheme. Remember, that's one of the reasons SCE/CoE was bumped to trade from mm in the first place. :)
