My favorite would have to be George Kirk. A very heroic guy.

IMO she died because she couldn't act... Wondered why the biggest celeberity barring Nimoy was cut from all but five minutes of the film? I reckon that after watching some dailies, JJ and co. decided they were better off killing her than having to write her into future movies.
