Favorite Spock lines

[/B]I think they'd both be great sound clips to put at the beginning of a song. :) High five, Possum. You have good taste. Spock's facial expression when he says that is priceless.

The facial expressions are what I find so funny. I also like the ones from "A Piece of the Action" where Kirk asks him what the odds of getting a Royal Fizzbin are.
Then when Spock and McCoy go to the radio station to contact the Enterprise:
"Simply adjust the frequency, throw this switch, and the Enterprise should answer." Then the radio ad starts- "Fascinating" and McCoy says "And very simple..."

"Really Dr. McCoy, you must learn to govern your passions. They will be your undoing." (TWOK)

"Fascinating."

Romulan Commander: "What are you that you could do this to me?"

Spock: "First Officer of the Enterprise".

My all time favorite Spock moment.

I love Kirk and Spock's discussion of 20th century literature while they're on the bus in TVH:

Spock: Your use of language has altered since our arrival. It is currently laced with, shall I say, more colorful metaphors — "Double dumb ass on you," and so forth.
Kirk: You mean the profanity.
Spock: Yes.
Kirk: That's simply the way they talk here. Nobody pays any attention to you unless you swear every other word. You'll find it in all the literature of the period.
Spock: For example?
Kirk: Oh, the complete works of Jacqueline Susann, the novels of Harold Robbins...
Spock: Ah... the giants.

Spock's quiet "Out of the chair..." in the new film cracked me up as well.

There are way too many... some have already been mentioned...

"After a time, you may find that having is not so pleasing a thing, after all, as wanting. It is not logical, but it is often true."

Some heartbreaking lines:

Spock's entire speech after he breaks down in The Naked Time

"For the first time in my life, I was happy" in This Side of Paradise

"Computers make excellent and efficient servants, but I have no wish to serve under them. Captain, a starship also runs on loyalty to one man. And nothing can replace it or him." Love the quiet, dignified way he says it, after being teased about prefering computers to people throughout the episode.

Endearing and unintentionally funny on his part: Spock talking about tribbles while stroking them in TTWT;

also, I love the way he says "That 'unit' is a woman!" in The Changeling. So often it is in the delivery and context.

For sarcasm, many of his retorts to McCoy... but I LOLed particularly ain The Trouble with Tribbles, when he corrects Chekov:

Kirk: Mr. Chekov, this flight is supposed to provide both experience and knowledge. How close will we come to the nearest Klingon outpost if we continue on our present course?
Chekov: Ah, one parsec, sir. Close enough to smell them!
Spock: That is illogical, Ensign. Odors cannot travel through the vacuum of space.
Chekov: I was making a little joke, sir.
Spock: Extremely little, Ensign.

In "Miri": "Ah. It seems that being a red-blooded human has its disadvantages."

But often his raised eyebrow is even funnier than any lines.

I love the way he answers when someone notices he's lied:

"A lie."
"An omission."

"You lied! "
"I exaggerated."

"You lied."
"I implied."

"If I were human, I believe my response would be: 'go to hell'. If I were human."

"Since my customary farewell would appear oddly self-serving, I shall simply say: Good luck."

ZQ's Spock had some great Spocky moments: "Out of the chair" ;
"I have no comment on the matter";
and of course, "Live long and prosper" delivered as it was, was something else. :techman:

I looked for two hours for any topics on this, so if I missed it I apologize.

My son is expected to be born on Sunday, so in anticipation of spending a lot of time with him I watched everything I have in my Trek collection from TOS to DS9 and the movies.

Congratulations! Please let us know when your son arrives!

How 'bout the 2 basic ones: "Live Long and Prosper", and "My mind to your mind..."

Also:

"1,771,561. That's assuming one tribble, multiplying with an average litter of 10, producing a new generation every 12 hours over a period of three days. That's assuming they got here three days ago. And allowing for the amount of grain consumed and the volume of the storage compartment."

"Gracie is pregnant."

"I have been and always shall be your friend."

" 'Oochie woochie coochie coo,' Captain?" :guffaw:
Ewww, yech! That gets my vote for worst Spock line! :angryrazz: SO corny! It almost ruined that episode for me, which till that point I thought was great (though in a campy way). I hate seeing the big 3 do that really lame baby talk, but McCoy's interaction with Julie Newmar throughout the rest of the episode was hilarious and as I stated earlier, I loved Spock's final words.

When Scotty tells Spock in TUC that that Klingon bitch didn't shed one bloody tear over the death of her father, Spock's reply slays me every time.

"Hardly conclusive, Mr. Scott, since Klingons have no tear ducts."

"Hi. Busy?"

"Uhura is busy. I am monitoring."

"I thought we could have a little chat."

"About what?"

"Oh, life, death, life. Things of that nature."

"I did not have time on Vulcan to review the philosophical disciplines."

"Come on, Spock. It's me, McCoy. You really have gone where no man has gone before. Don't you have anything to say about it?"

"I couldn't begin to discuss the subject without a common frame of reference."

"You're joking."

"A joke is a story with a humorous climax."

"You mean I have to die to discuss your insights on death?"

"Forgive me, doctor. I am receiving a number of distress calls."

"I don't doubt it."

"In fact I do...but only to a certain point."

(not my favorite, but still pretty good)
