Before this new series ends and make an appropriate new thread about your favorite NuWho series, why not share your favorite series/season of the first incarnation of the show (NuWho being the second), that run from 1963 to 1989.

Vote away, and share!

PS: If you want to count some Lost Stories that have been realized by Big Finish, either within the seasons you choose or inbetween them, feel free to share. Just specify is all.

:)

Easily season 14. Some of the best serials the show has done (The Talons of Weng-Chiang, The Deadly Assassin, and The Robots of Death), along with three other excellent serials (The Masque of Mandragora, The Hand of Fear, and The Face of Evil), features one of the best companion departures, introduces my favorite companion, and presents two of the best one-off characters, who are so endearing that they got their own audio play spin-off series 30 years later. Pretty hard to top all of that.

Very good argument. It might the best complete set of stories in a season. And thats coming from the already stellar '70's.

Series 22, I love a good chunk of Colin Baker's work. Note though that I've not seen every surviving serial ever.

Season 16: The Key to Time.

That to me is the epitome of Doctor Who and Tom Baker. Romana I and K-9. The Doctor as a silly goof made to look stupid by his smarter younger companion.

I love the overall basis of The Key to Time and most of the stories, but The Stones of Blood and The Power of Kroll are both clunkers, although at least The Stones of Blood had the excellent Professor Amelia Rumford.
