Favorite moments in ME3 (Spoilers possible)

Kirrahe would have been amazing but I'm sure he died on my first ME1 runthrough too. :D

I wonder if having a non-loyal new character is the same as having non-loyal squaddies leftover from ME2? I love all the different variables in play.

That reminds me, I was pretty bummed that Mess Sergeant Gardner never reappeared to be recruited again like Ken and Gabby. The kitchen looked so empty for most of the game!

ME3 was a pretty depressing game at times, but I used a save where all my squadmates lived. I can't for the life of me work out what happened to the one where I lost Thane, Mordin and Legion. I would love to have seen how that unfolded in the game, although I think I would have lost three of my favouritest moments in the game with them gone! :o
Imagine how I feel, playing through my game with a dead Tali :(

Tali drunk calling Javik had it's fun moments.

A few of Javik's lines

Shep and Drunk Ashley. (I don't know how MShep sounds in that scene, but FShep sounds almost gleefully evil when teasing Ash about it)

Thane vs Kai Leng.

Some of the heartwarming moments like Geth volunteering to be uploaded to Quarian suits to help them adapt to home more quickly.

I was disappointed that Rana wasn't at the monastery though.(She's escaped every explosion my Shep had set off so far so I was wondering if it would be third time lucky:p).

Posted over in general ME thread as well:

Apparently EA is offering refunds for customers in the UK from Origin, if they claim False Advertising, folks on BSN are trying to find out if it applies to the US as well:

This is huge, basically it would admit that EA/Bioware knew the game had a potential to be false advertising and trying to stave off a lawsuit?

Unfortunately, Rana died off-screen - she was hearing voices, murdered several high-ranking asari officials, then committed suicide.

^Not to derail, but I found stuff like that particularly disappointing. Not just Rana, but the likes of Shiala, Parasini and even Elnora looked like they were destined to reappear but never did. The closest we get is a random war asset about Shiala leading a commando team made up of Zhu's Hope survivors. More evidence of corners being cut and time being short I suppose.

Eh, the game already had a case of small world syndrome, having most of the minor characters from the past two games show up would have been too much. Emails and news reports are fine for things like that as far as I'm concerned.

Oh don't get me wrong, it's very minor stuff but from a storytelling perspective to seems as though some of these character were supposed to reappear and play some role, great or small. Indeed, it feels like a whole subplot alluded to in ME2 (dark energy effecting stars) was just dropped altogether. That combined with the simplified conversations and simple scan & fetch quests standing in for actual side quests leaves one with the impression of a suspiciously bare bones game at time.

Same thing happened with Emily Wong where she rammed a reaper with a shuttle off screen and died

I don't think a lawsuit based on false advertising has any chance of success or else the entire marketing industry is at risk.

I think it's more of an attempt at fighting bad word of mouth (that ship has sailed since about 2 weeks ago when many had finished the game and vented on the internet) by trying to get into the good graces of gamers again.

What's remarkable is the fact itself.. companies usually do press junkets and interviews in these cases to fight bad PR but taking back product which is fine on the technical side (the only generally accepted reason.. so buggy it won't run on many systems) is a first i think and not a good sign.

I think Bioware got surprised by the extent of the backlash.. they must have expected negative reactions but now that 80% or higher (garnering from online comments.. who knows how most people are reacting who just play a game and don't post much online) are rejecting the end i think they may be in panic mode.

But let's not derail this thread.. there is the general ME3 thread for that.

Drunk Tali at any point is funny. "Emergency... induction... port..."

I'll add successfully making peace between the quarians and the geth to be a favourite moment. Especially when the Geth Prime walks up and speaks to Admiral Raan, welcoming the quarians home.

^Just so. I think I've said elsewhere already that it would have be much better if Emily Wong had been the embedded reporter rather than that waste of polygons Diana Allers...but this is not the thread for that. ;)

Back to the funny stuff, I think this speaks for itself.

Well, just found out something interesting. My girlfriend is playing through ME3 right now and missed out on the mission to save Jack. Fast forward to the Assault on the Illusive Man Mission and you get some audio diaries involving Jack being tortured. Later on in the mission you run into a Phantom that goes by the name of Jack and shouts "I will destroy you!" as she tries to kill you :( As much grief as I give the ending, they certainly did put a lot of thought into the little details.

Yeah, there are a couple of things like that. If you hand Legion over to Cerberus in ME2, he's an enemy sniper during the assault on Cerberus' HQ. Also, if you chose to spare Morinth in ME2, she shows up as a banshee during the final fight in London. It's really cool that they added easter eggs like that.

I liked Diana. She's a good kisser. :D

^Speaking of kisses. Was anyone else as impressed as I was that the kiss between femshep and Liara, rather than the usual pair of mannequins awkwardly headbutting look, actually looked like a real kiss? I think it's the first time I've almost been convinced that a digital character is solid. Not if only they could do the same for hands!

I can only presume the other couplings were similarly well executed as I've only played through once so far.

Just had another great moment. Been doing a new renegade playthrough of the trilogy, and naturally feel compelled to punch Khalisah at every opportunity. Well, in ME3 the interrupt comes up, Shep swings, she dodges it, ("Not this time!") another interrupt pops up, and Shep immediately headbutts her. Loss of war asset points be damned, it was worth it! :guffaw:

Oh, he's vanguard and yeah, spamming charge/nova is indeed riDONKulously overpowered. Good lord. Definitely will be doing an engineer for my next playthrough so fights are a little more tactical and last longer than 5 seconds. ;)
